Transporting Minds

Steep hills stretch off into the distance, blue,
a wide expanse of valley in between.
Hawks are hovering in the sparkling sky,
and glide so elegantly o’er the scene.

Such vastness on view takes ones breath away,
transporting minds into another place.
One walks over the ground of tufted grass
green carpet, spread for miles across this space.

A river winds along its snaking way,
clear water shining bright under the sun,
And trees in thickets, dot the broad landscape,
giving sweet shade to cows, such coolness won.

To sit, to dream and thus to contemplate,
endless vistas that so attract the eye.
Nature in all its colours, fill this earth,
and compliment the wide clear azure sky.

Cerebration

Heavy are my thoughts of you tonight,
You, who's face fills me with sheer delight,
You, whispering in my head through dreams so real,
Why is it, that I so cherish what I feel.

You, who have infused my heart with tenderness,
Making me feel one thousand times so blest,
Picturing you each time a thought peeps through,
I can think of no one else but you.

O, wisp of peace, that offers just a grain
Of calm, how can I replace you in my brain,
They say that time will ease the pain away,
But everyday the grief comes into play.

For you are gone, I can't believe it yet,
I do not know, if I ever can forget,
Heavy are my thoughts of you tonight,
It is with dread that I put out the light!

A Passing Fancy

The bell was ringing in the distance, of my existence,
but I let it ring.

Couldn’t think of a thing to say, anyway,
certainly not today.

Or any day for that matter, I didn’t want to natter to anyone.

Too many calls, then love palls.

Familiarity breeds contempt, and I was not exempt.
I‘ll let the dust settle on this affair, it’s just the way it goes,
that’s what I chose to do. Finish it, I had to quit.

He’ll forget, and once again my heart will be ‘to let‘.

It was a passing fancy, a chancy romance, and one begins
to learn and discern.

The closing of a book full of empty pages,

Joint Laughter

We laugh at the same funny things,
Our quick sense of humour just springs
From being together,
Whatever the weather,
It's wonderful what such laughter brings.

We can each see the funny side, that's true,
But of course we can sometimes be blue,
But if one of us is down,
Then the others a clown
Enticing a smile to break through.

Sometimes, when we're both very tired,
And we feel that we're electrically wired,
Something just makes us smile,
And after a while,
We can laugh, which is just what's required.

I won't say there's not sadness in life,
But try looking beyond all the strife,

A Golden Sphere

A golden sphere is lifting up so slowly in the east,
The eye is looking towards it, and seeing such a feast,
Blazing with bands of colour, and giving a wondrous heat,
A view that to each observer, is something so complete.

The sphere goes on its journey, and starts slowly rising,
In different coloured guises, it begins such advertising,
Above the trees and fields, of this silent waiting land,
With a spectacle so splendid, so magnificent and grand.

A whole range of hues are seen, within this fiery glow,
Changing as the hours pass by, it then starts sinking low,
And if seen in splendid glory, is a wonderful imposing sight,
Out to the west, where it disappears into our moonlit night.

A Sure Promise

Refreshing breeze, you waft across my brow,
Relaxing me so well, to thus allow
My mind to wander off in dreams, somehow,
To things of pleasure. All ascending now.

Dazzling sun, you wrap my frame with bliss,
Softening my heart, which then receives solace.
And filling my being with such a sure promise,
That I rise up from a darkening, deep abyss.

Unruffled moon, your light shines from afar,
Lifting the gloom along with each bright star.
Reflecting off the sunbeams own radar.
How wonderful your illuminations are.

Aqueous rain that launders all things new,
Feeding the ground and depositing the dew.
Revive my soul, and with clarity imbue,
As each droplet descends to its known rendezvous.

Autumn's Changing Shades

The wind swirls leaves in all directions,
Tumbling them down upon this earth,
Releasing them from their connections,
To inhabit yet another berth.

Layers of them are now descending,
Carpeting the land's cold ground,
Colours meticulously blending,
Burnished copper spread around.

All in their distinct formations,
Each with different hues to see,
Parading now in damp locations,
Drifters off upon a spree.

Autumn's changing shades are warming,
Embroidering a patchwork quilt
Across the open plains transforming,
Embellishing with golden gilt.

A Trustworthy Guardian

A lighthouse
stands lofty,
tall and straight,
erect in its stark
simplicity.

Its light
beams out
across the waves,
rotating,
warning all
who come too near
that the
face of death,
here, rears its ugly head.

With breakers crashing
onto the rocks
around its base,
and the spray lifting

Above The Atmosphere

If I could climb a ladder to the stars.
Forget my fear of heights and upward glance.
To see the heavens twinkling down on me,
Making me feel that I could freely dance.

If I could spread my arms and touch the stars,
And shake their glitter down upon the earth.
Giving such hope and joy to all below,
Lifting up the pure essence of their worth.

If I could, in my hands, cradle some stars,
And feel the warmth that they would surely own.
The universe would all around me be,
And I would feel a peace I’ve never known.

If I could wish upon those sparkling stars.
Way, way up high above the atmosphere.
I’d ask that our sad world would fill with love,
Sent down to us from God who’s always near.

Hello Boys!

Hello Boys! She drawled with a low sexy voice,
Swinging her foot onto a chair,
Her skirt separated and was showing her thighs,
Which caused all the 'fellas' to 'stare'!

She shimmered with sequins and sparkled with jewels,
Bright feathers adorning her hair,
She was totally outrageous and larger then life,
Their 'passions' were starting to 'flare'!

She slowly leant over, her bosom immense,
Singing out 'I'm Delectable Lil',
Their faces ecstatic, their eyes popping out,
She whispered 'I'll give you a thrill'!

She flirted and fluttered her eyelashes then,
Wiggling hips that just had to be seen,
When suddenly they realised with utter dismay,
She was in fact, a fantastic 'drag queen'!
