the C word

it’s said by women to women
that the most offensive word
(in the english language)
they can be called is
the C word-
this word cannot be uttered by men around women,
it’s said by women to men,
it’s said by men to men
when conversing about the women who told them
amidst other women or
alone
without other women present.

all words stumble round its usage like
a toddler
meandering across a
fresh patch of ice in slippers made of
butter.

as cyanide in your favorite drink or

Absoluteless

tomorrow you might wake up in prison or
tomorrow you might have the most amazing orgasm of your life
or tomorrow you might be hit by a semi crossing the street or
tomorrow you might find out your significant other is cheating on you
or tomorrow you might win the lottery or
tomorrow you might get robbed & beat within an inch of your life while you are asleep
or tomorrow you might get hired to work your dream job or
tomorrow you might meet the match to blurt out all other romantic inquiries
or tomorrow you might find out you have a debilitating disease or
tomorrow you might get in a car that runs out of gas & have to walk all the way home
or tomorrow you might travel to your most sought out destination or
tomorrow you might finish your novel
or tomorrow you might win a marathon or
tomorrow you might have a heart attack
or tomorrow you might graduate with a doctorate degree or
tomorrow you might move to your favorite city
or tomorrow you might fall in love again or
tomorrow you might get a drug habit
or tomorrow you might get audited by the IRS or
tomorrow you might get sick of reading this piece

The Comfort in Talking Shop

there is a warmth that comes with the talk of work-
when two or more individuals converse about skills & their
prospective mutual context,
of which they may or may not have worked together in
for weeks, months or
years,
but which all parties speaking
know something about because they all hold relevant
experience
in the area being discussed-
people who genuinely work at their jobs,
whatever they may be,
are able to find a kind of sustenance in the work itself
which others may never find,
if they spend their whole lives
complaining
about every little thing it is that they do-
these individuals
may never know the comfort
which comes with discussing the simple nuances

Melody In All Things (connections With The Resonant Infections)

for the melody in all things
we continue to wait-for
we who are fortunate enough to delve into the pool of
assonance & euphony
want never to come out
like a high with no withdrawal
like a safe house with no enemy out about
like a poem without need for rhyme or rhythm
just a song that flushes through the veins
like the cleansing wondrous beauty of the
cool water
coasting over the layer of skin most exposed to the harsh damaging rays of the
relentless sun
like the electricity of the greatest orgasmic energy exploding from all places within &
shooting out into the rest of the atmosphere around
these tunes bear no face of the ugly humans that we all are
these tunes show only the hope of an end to our
self-destruction
of which we are certainly only bent upon
with what seems to be an ever growing speed &

A Calmer (Process Of) You

III.

drifting (still) just beneath
what horror awaits (in roaming waters)
in present day (the calmer you)
the meek hopeful (pretends)
twitches (as if the world is not teetering)
on (its axis) daily (& evolution has)
(provided) swimming avec requins
(a numbness that) holding onto relics (kicks in)
(which allows) arms flailing recklessly (for the absolute tragic)
(to pass) tattooed (before your eyes) , stained within
all the while (without a moment's pause)
(to panic) walking the tightrope (&)
(vomit up) above (the) exploding coals
with (spaghetti) conflagrative skin
with (that) heart (you had) palpitating
a (last) woven mess
of (evening) veins screaming.

Hold Onto Your Anger

no amount of positive change in the world
which has advanced the betterment of us
as a species,
has come about by staring into the face of
idiocy, malicious intent, straight out murder,
slavery, oppression & genocide &
then trying to win it over with
concessions &
compassion-
it is discontent & rage
that have come about as a direct result of the forces in this world
which think that they can do to you what they want
when they want-
without it, there would be no
progress.

anger riles the individual
the individual gains strength
the strong individual speaks to another &
two become four,

The Hollow Nature Of Being

WALL I:

inside an empty room lies an empty box
and in that box is a four walled inside room within-
on each of the four walls is a mirror reflecting
the deep desertion of the next
and distant within each wall is another
echoing & spiraling back into infinite repetition
with nothing or no one except the physical entities
bearing back upon each other.

WALL II:

an empty room in an empty house
the house itself has no physical attributes because it
was built in a barren field-
there are no animals, no trees,

Chained Chained Women In The 'Land Of The Free

can you feel the jealousy emanating from the other first world countries
whose women watch the US government insist upon
no universal healthcare,
making its own citizens eternal slaves to HMO's & big pharma
&
if that wasn't bad enough,
they watch the religious tyrants beating their 'holy books, '
continuing
to feel as if it is ok to
deprive citizens of contraceptive coverage in the
health care packages being provided by employers across the country?

um,
this writer has a hard time doing so…for the record.

how long will this so-called 'democracy' make the women within its borders
suffer?
how long will the crazy crazy christians insist on
trying to keep women in a little cage where they cannot determine what happens to their own bodies?

Dog Trap

s/he got a new dog &
like many dogs before it,
it shed & it jumped up on the
sofa, the comfy chair in the
living room, etc.-
in regards to the prior dogs in
her/his life, s/he had
"suffered" the hair deposits,
the smell of dog, be it dry or
wet, and the rest of the
litany of petty problems
which dog owners will claim
when going to great lengths
to tame & beat their happy dog
into submission-
one day,
s/he came up with an idea
as to how to get the dog off the
chair & the sofa-
s/he got up early in the morning,

To Secure The Homeland

fear of an attack on the anniversary of

9/11

has people in the US

twitching & scampering

with the hairs on the back of their necks sticking

straight up &

the government assures everyone

that it has the situation under control

that it is pursuing said suspects with that same quality veracity which

was spent looking for WMD’s that were never found &
