Potatoes
Nowadays
Life has
Become
So hectic
With long
Working
Hours…
Extended
Weekend
Duties…
Cut-throat
Competition
Menaci ng
Deadlines,
Work-from-home
Facilities
Making home
Seem
More of an
Office

The Sun and The Moon
As the Sun
Sets on the Sea
With its reddish glow
And orange hues...
The day shades in for me
Awakening the
Night of Darkness
Within me...
And the setting Sun
On the horizon
Beckons me
Nearer to it
As if asking me
To seek shelter
In its radiant warmth
And magnanimous
Splendour...
Yet when I see

Vest
Why do you wear a vest?
Do you really need to wear it?
When you come to me…
Don’t you think it prevents me
From accessing you directly?
Come to me only with your
Buttoned up tucked in shirt,
Leave the rest to me…
What to do, how to do,
How long and how well to do.
The whys, hows and wherefores
Of doing things to you…
And when I do those things to you,
You’ll come back to me again
And again and again, and those
Endless times and again…
With that vestless shirt of yours
So that I could do those things

The Moth
The Moth
Goes near it
To seek some light
In its world of darkness
To seek some respite
In its desolate life
To seek some warmth
In its search for love,
Care and belongingness…
The Moth goes near it
Hoping to find
Some acceptance
Some reciprocation
Of its burning desire
For that source of light
But try as he might
He fails, he fails
And he miserably fails…

Radha-Krishna
Gathering the pieces
Of my past -
I've come back to you
Mending a broken heart
All by myself, on my own
I've come back to you
To stay here, forever...
Though it is not
Wholesome as before
A heart once mended
Is like a Yoni
Stitched and pruned
After child-birth
Yet a crack is
Always there...
More the children,
More the cracks,
Like the remnants

She and I
The poetry in me
Is not mine
It is hers...
And she is not me
She is the lover
And I am the wife.
She comes in me
Time and again
The uncalled for guest
Yet I always play the host.
She details her sorrows
And I listen to her
Lending my patient ears
To her endless pathos…
She gives me love
And I, my sympathies.
She beseeches me,

Missing You
The day is the same
Like any other day
A few varied shades
And some varied words
To ponder and say
The sun rose alone
And so did it Set
The moon is rising now
Would be time for Bed
Amidst the sun and the moon
The day and the night
The sameness and the variance
A feeling so consistent
So very deep, so very insistent
Persistent and Incisive
In my heart…
And I express it to you

Inundation
What do I have here
In my mobile?
Jokes, Quotes,
Poems and Prose.
Words of response
Buttered with humour
Candour, warps of ‘dear’
And a seemingly friendly
Call to me:
I being his ‘buddy’.
Though he knows
That to me, he is
No more that friend
Of mine I once loved.
These baubles, trinkets
And candies of sugary
Sweet smses that he
Keeps sending me…

Sunset at Scarborough
When you saw
The Golden Sun
Setting on the Sea
At Scarborough
And you thought of me, my love
I felt wonderful…
Being a part of the text
That you sent me
Being a part of your memory
As you remembered me…
Being a part of that
Moment in Time
When the Golden Sun
Was setting
On the Sea
At Scarborough.
As you stood there
In the Balcony
On the 22nd Floor

Festive Time
Hey Devotee!
It is festive time
For you,
To please yourself
And me.
Yet, I’m sorry to say
It doesn’t appease me.
You must be
Really enjoying
The cacophony
Of drums and beats
That scare away the birds
And animals on the streets.
May be, there are old people
Resting nearby in the very same
Streets through which your
Clamorous procession proceeds.
