Crying to Sleep

Beams of morning, like
phallic interruptions in virgin sleep, rape the warm
sheets of black - stirring songs of
birds - welcoming another day.

Waves cracking at the breaker of
dawn.

Drops of blood washed up in
cool down of Tiger, welcoming
another day.

Hell, it is painful. To sleep
and to wake, in and out
of fitful consciousness. Aware of

no light, coming in.

Crying myself to
sleep once more.
