Mice take over the Bundestag

Mice take over the Bundestag
Seeking refuge from the cold snap
In the country's parliament building
Here the mice have found a safe haven

Elsewhere in the city
More than a hundred brave hardy people
Enter a hole cut from the crust
Of Lake Oranke
All part of an annual tradition
Is this Ice-Swimming celebration
During the chill of an arctic wind
Which embraces all of Berlin

Meanwhile the Bundestag mice
Forthwith have been advised
To abandon their newfound haven
Or else face extermination

Wolf Moon

Though no longer amongst us
Their tradition and spirit lingers on
Like the names associated with
Each month's new full moon

A reoccurring theme in the cycle
When months are measured by moons returning
A practice common among indigenous peoples

In the month of January
A great moon rises slowly
And at night the Wolf pack howl out plaintively
For food is scarce and the wolves are hungry

To the First Peoples - The Wolf is brother
And only a brother can feel the pain of his brother's hunger
That is why the Native Peoples name January “Wolf Moon” in their brother's honor

Now to a museum, all too soon -The Tipi (tepee, teepee) has gone
Whilst within a reservation the Wolf Pack are free to roam

In View of the Biblical Zoo

Over the tree line towards the valleys end
Abed Abed-Rabbo raises a hand
The farm he surveys, his father's before him
Has been past down for generations in keeping with custom

In view of the Biblical Zoo
A farm of olives trees is a refreshing contrast
Against an imposing backdropp of urban concrete
And an ever expanding city complex

But because of the need for living space
This established ecosystem is being replaced
And Abed Abed-Rabbo is now forced to abdicate
His precious Olive farm, with its one room sleeping cave

Against urban sprawl and concrete walls
Alone one man can not possibly stand
And any amount of compensation cannot match
The resulting environmental impact

International Clowns Guild. At a recent conference on racism

At a recent conference on racism
The International Clowns Guild made a surprise appearance
Sporting red noses and rainbow colored wigs
Apart from that, these Clowns looked just like everyone else.

Commencing their performance by hissing and booing
The Clowns between sobs their audience were wooing
Lamenting their complaint - simply stated
Because of their red noses and rainbow colored wigs
These Clowns claimed - for that, they had been discriminated against.

Removing their noses and colorful wigs
The Clowns indeed proved they looked just like everyone else:
As The Clowns true identity had been revealed
Laughter erupted for it was plainly seen
Clowns are people with or without their red noses or wigs
Thereby proving that between Clowns and People racism should never exist.
