Sleazy Scribes (Naani)
Sleazy scribes
dipping pen in ennui and slime
like virgin doves turned vexful crows -
trivial... no jibe.
'Folly delights a man who lacks judgment,
but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.'

Humor
The spice of life
And the sweet in laughter
An antidote for strife
It pacifies anger
The lotion for age
The tickle of a poem
A wonderful stage
Where joy can come
Such is the element
Free to all men
A helpful ingredient
Is Humor, amen.

The Ladybug
I watched a tiny ladybug
At morning's light descending
Upon a flower that it hugged
A lovely sight, refreshing!
It freely moved with balanced ease
The touch of a dancer's grace
Laid charm its own floral trapeze
...It amazes me always!

Flooding
Flooding
Posting volumes
Of several poems
Covers the page
Blocks other choices
And fences other writers
Yet is no guarantee
That flooding is read
For all the poetry
For the myriad words said
Remains suspended
Unread
Unread
Unread
Dead.

Four Epigrams in April
When a man has a lot of money
True friends are a rarity.
When a child hears profanity
He'll be cursing you surely!
Vulgar words destroy poetry
For they express no beauty.
Friendship is a masterpiece of art
A diligent work of the heart.

A Gentle Spirit Is Panacea
A gentle spirit is panacea
For all the burdens and ills
Things that bring us dilemma
And drain our strength and will.
A gentle spirit is soothing balm
Comforts in softness of words
Creating an atmosphere of calm
And cordiality it accords.

Colors
Sometimes color
Clouds opinion
Sways the heart
Blurs the vision
White on top-
Black below
Yellow, brown
These have to go.
But with one color
It is said
All are bound
Their blood is... Red.

Do We Make A Name?
Do we make a name
Or does the name make us
Do we get known because of our name
Or what we do that makes it known
A good man makes a good name
He leaves a mark on the living
An evil man destroys his name
And his passing leaves us nothing.

When Bullets Speak
When bullets speak
It ushers Silence
As all become weak
End of the sentence.
When bullets speak
More blood will flow
There's no Peace to seek
More Wars will grow.
When bullets speak
No one to counter
For the dead are meek
Lie in surrender.

Anger Like Fire
Anger like fire
Bursts forth
In leaps of flames
Words rage in ire
Abort
In one painful frame
And once released
Break hearts
With wounds that bleed
The ties are eased
To part
From Love and need.
