Where Poppies Grow

Where poppies grow
There lies your foe
Who seeks a harvest
Of destruction.

The youth, his target,
The snare is set
As nations collapse
From within.

He will not fight
Through weapons of might
But slyly aims
At the core.

Young lives are crushed
By opium's brush
Burdened families
Decaying.

Victims All

They go through life defenseless
Not knowing reasons why
Through battles they are helpless
Where most often they just die.

From silly custody cases
To the ravages of cruel wars
You see their crying faces
And the pain they've suffered so far.

Their eyes stare out so empty
Of hope, of joy and dreams
No anger for the tragedies
They are forced to face, it seems.

We are concerned with climate
And animals bound for extinction
But children of this world's sad fate
Need our love and urgent attention.

Do You Really Know War?

Do you know
What it's like over there?
First there's the searing heat
And the blinding sand winds blow,
Your cracked lips cry
For water...from where it comes
You don't know.

Do you know what it's
Really, really like?
To not have a few hours sleep?
To keep your mind and ears
Awake till your focus, you can't keep?

Do you know how it is
To hear cries of pain
To the sounds of consuming explosions
The deafening terrors
Can make anyone insane
Unable to take such inhuman condition?

Aftermath

After the Arab Spring, what?
The death count all but recorded
But none of the expected aftermath
Where is the freedom that was expected?

Nations that had them still in chaos
Just a political label?
Of vague directions, what a lost cause!
Options absent, all's not well.

So gone are the aged dictatorships
Multiplied are the conflicts and deaths
Governments changed but there's no leadership
Such a scenario add to global debts.

Eight hundred million dollars to feed Arab Spring?
Money cannot water a people's hunger
Love for country must always be birth within
And values must be changed for each other.

The Only Way To Freedom!

God said - it is a Perversion!
His Word is true and eternal.
Homosexuality is a tragic condition
It is something that is ABNORMAL.

The Homosexual mind is unbalanced
Tormented by a gender confusion
It's mental illness that has its hands
On the victim's mind with Depression.

Such minds grapple with a lot of things
Swaying from fantasies to Delusions
Manifested Rage, unpredictable Mood Swings
It seeks to satisfy Self in all its actions.

A recent tragedy we all know confirmed this
A crazy Gay cut up his Chinese lover
His view expressed a mind without peace
A mind that found joy to kill and to murder!

Presumption

Her constant communication
Fed his chauvinistic ego
And led him to blind conclusions
That her heart cared for him so.

Her words nurtured in friendship
Made it hard to tell otherwise,
But he felt it was part of a courtship
Where the lady was chasing the price.

Unaware of her true intentions
Too flattered was he to surmise,
He was drunk by his own motivations-
She was not what he soon realized.

He coolly brushed her aside
Thinking he was making a conquest,
But she took it all in stride
For her true love had laid a request.

How Great the Love He Gives Us!

How great is the love He gives us!
Each day is manifested proof,
The morning sun, the clear blue sky
Of rain and air, more than enough.

Our life is filled in His embrace
The galaxy of stars declaring,
In everything we see His Face
Creation's testimony singing.

His love protects us from all harm,
Pulls us through when times are hard.
He holds us in His loving arms
Abiding Presence our reward.

And when we fall, we find His Grace
To take our hand and in forgiveness,
He takes us back into the race
To guide our path with His great Goodness.

My Redeemer Lives!

Even when I am old and gray
Lord, I will sing You praise
And though my life may ebb away
I will declare Your amazing Grace!

For You, O God have held me through
My darkest hours and human failings
A Faithful God, Lord You are True
You changed my mournings into dancing.

You are the Father to the fatherless
Near to the lost and brokenhearted
Shield for the lonely and the hopeless
Healer of the downcast and afflicted.

When my strength and flesh shall decay
I know the God Whom I believed
I know that my Savior for me prays
Jesus Christ, My Redeemer lives!

The Way, The Truth, The Light

We were born into that fake religion
But now we are so glad we got out
For Truth always wins over deception
As Faith shows what God is about.

My children and I were Catholic
I say 'were' because that was the past
To be fooled forever is indeed pathetic
But all the plans of God were steadfast

He made a way for us to know Him
In circumstances quite like Damascus
At a time in our lives when all was dim
We encountered the LORD Christ Jesus

His Word through the Bible removed the scales
From our blinded eyes filled with falsehood
By the Light of His Spirit Who never fails
Christ in us leading towards all that is good

Do You Really Want Money?

Do you really want money?
Or would you rather have these:
Good health in your family
And restful sleep with peace.

A simple home with love
Meals shared with lots of laughter
Real wealth from God above
Sweet memories to remember.

By your side a true friend,
And a dear loved one to hold,
Answers to prayers sent,
Warm hugs when you are cold.

Songs of birds to wake you
A gentle breeze that blows
Thanks for little things you do
And praise for the good you show.
