I get Lonely

I get lonely
When the upstairs
Neighbors arrive
They’re in love
They laugh
Eat dinner
Watch TV
Make love by candlelight
Flickering thru window
On to tress.
Tress see, feel
And grow to
Damp sex on wind Spread forth kisses,
Drop on hands, heads, and chests.
A slide of caressing fingers
Thur body hair.
Body lightening slowly crack
Open up body hair
A rush of passion
Seeks.

Summer Boy In Spring

Summer boy this spring got you hot
You’re running round my house
Like a roll-jumpin’ rock.
Crabapple blossom are soon gonna pop
And a rain gonna pin them to you head.
Summer boy your skin still pale
Your thighs are tight, your wind hair curled
You hop cross my gutter and a gnat
Changed its course.
Sun smile behind these clouds my dear summer boy
Come on in into my heart.

There was a man who fought fire with fire

There was a man
Who fought fire with fire
When it came to the sexual art
And he was no stranger to being burnt
And the burning of others.
It was par for the course
Do unto other
And he did time and time again
Until the fire caught him unprepared
By something as simple as a rubber
And now as his body grows thin
So to do his flame flutter in a thin wind
Of a body under attack.

I am drunk on rum and coke

I am drunk on rum and coke
I am lost in words
I am mixing my shadow
With the shadows of birds
O Franklin, O Rosemont
The roses have all gone blind
To hear that you have died
In death where do we go?
The flesh to see no more
Your smile, your light to look upon
You’re the last native son of Chicago
When poets die they leave their poems as eyes
To see the cotton candy clouds by.

Foot Ball

The men are playing football
Their bodies fairer fair
Their beauty stretches to catch
Their tackle mixing their sweat.
I have thought too often think
As I see their muscle run
That was my youth on the brink
I would partake in their fun
But these old bones says take it slow
just walk behind them where they go
And write the poem that must be said
Give to them the sport of your words.

War, War, War

War, war, war, the train of war
With its dedication to death
With its shield over fields
Where the understood blood is spilled
On the battle field.
The slaughtering instrument of war,
The dazzling surprise that prevail
Can not shake off the founder of war.
Nature is the founder of war
And she have taught it to man
She is the character of the greediness of the fight
But she takes no side.

Being Content

To be content
He ask no angels
But think, admit
His faithful dog
To submit
Go wiser thou
And weight thy opinion
I do not know myself
Like my dog knows me
I and yes I subsume
And she, yesshe is moved
By my smell
She is my friend
And I yes I
Am hers
I am her human
Tho she never
Call me so
I call dog
Janwanza her name

My poems are stored

My poems are stored
In a funeral box
Kept beside the bed
They go unread
Similar objects are kept
Locked in my heart and head
They go unread
The habitation of my poems
Is bonded red
They go unread
All poems are offerings
To the god that can not read
For poems are only human
Made things
The bees do not care for them
Neither does the birds
Or the trees with better
Things to do then
Take note of them.

Life is a movie

Life is a movie
Without someone
Calling action
Shit happens
Pan left
A man with a shopping cart
Full to the brim with cans
Money in the pocket
Pan right
At night a bat
Fly into my bed room
An example of disorientation
Close up
Another murder on t v
Life is cheat
Fade to black
We die
An end to life
The reel has run out
Epilogue

Baby Can I Be Your Man

Baby can I be your man
I say baby can I be your man
Cause you’re the best thing that I have ever had

Baby lie down by my side
I say baby lie down by my side
I got a little somethin’ that I want you to ride

Baby come hold my hand
I say baby come hold my hand
I want the world to see that I’m your only man

Baby can I be your man
I say baby can I be your man
Cause you’re the best thing that I have ever had
