Little possum

Little possum
That lives under
The back porch
I will not tell mama
She will call the exterminators
And she having grown up
On big mama’s farm in Mississippi
I’ve tell you a story
When I was ten years old granddaddy
Took me possum hunting
He caught one and built
A three legged tri pole
And built a fire at its center
He roast that possum burning off all it hair
That night full of Mississippi stare
I ate my fill.

The Expression of Beauty

The Expression of Beauty

Beauty is voluptuous
In its flesh where it
Was firm of flesh now has
A bit of fat around the waist
Beauty has grown gray with me
With its destination of age
Once it sat in my heart and meditated
On the times that I walked
The narrow streets in search
To the touch of unknown men
Beauty once called forth
My fancies to express what
I kept inside when I did hide
Behind the door of my heart’s desires

Love is Not A Seasonal Crop

Love is not a seasonal crop
The weather we can’t control
Tend it well and well it’ll grow
The weather will and unknown how or why itself impose
Weather it with all your will, those it always wins
For of itself in time weather must be spent
Sometimes its only slight damage done
That we must amend
If it’s a total ravish, bend down and plant again
For earth and hearts are glad to give
An equal yield of what’s putted in

Your Destiny is that of a Man

Your destiny is that of a man
Plucked like one thread from the web
Of a thousand souls paining
Every man for himself
I bear the shears of destiny
For it is a knell
Common thee to heaven or to hell
Both the water and the wind slept
They dash themselves to pieces
And can not be now amended.
The steerage of my course
Keeps to all that it reaps
Another, another to always keep
Another to keep what I wear
My weight within the web I bear.

Forever is the life of nature

Forever is the life of nature
But the trees die within her
Forever is the life of nature
But the birds die within her
Forever is the lofe of nature
But men die within her
Forever is the life of nature
But earths die within her
Forever is the life of nature
But suns die within her
Forever is the life of nature
But suns die within her
Forever is the life of nature
But galaxies die within her
Forever is the life nature
But universes die within her.

If beauty was the rain

If beauty was the rain
I would close my eyes and drain
And listen to its reframe
That drips from the roof
If beauty was the sun
Then roast me till I’m done
And the growth that I has won
Lies open petal to the morn that break
Its calm to what may come.
If beauty was the moon
I would sing it a tune of full bloom
That pin point the dark sky
If beauty was a tree
Then cover me in leaves
Fall from my eyes in riot colors
Painted by what bark that shed
Its growth

Twice Hail

Twice Hail
To the children
Of the place of the dawn
Hail, to the children
Twice children of the sun
Hail dark brown forms
You are the vertebrae
Its pristine strength
Has an intelligence soul
That knows the millions of years
Of the heavenly row boat.
Children of the sky scrappers
Children of the corn
Hail the great God
Who suffer no destruction
Exalted one, adored
By the coming forth
Of the souls of children
Who can say
The God of my God

In deep sleep

In deep sleep
I weep warm
Words of wooing you.

In deep sleep
I dream of
Men enlighten
Alone quickly
Come back to earth.

In deep sleep
My causal body
Sweat the sweet
Soul that dwells
Beneath the veiling-power
Of my holy approaches
To man and nature of the
Natural earth.

In deep sleep

The fish of the season

The fish of the season
Coming into existence
The boat in the pool
The two sides of a flower
I grasp the splendid bow
And ride the stern of the boat
The moon goddess comes with a whisper
The moon-disk like tarnish sliver
The coming forth, the walking
From her abode
that the fish of season
Has fled the nets that
Take its misfortune
I was born free
So I know what
The fish is swimming for
Up stream pass Wisconsin boys
With baseball bats
Knee deep they knocks
The fishes out of the water.

Fortunately

Fortunately my
Eyes used to find love
Is blind, blindly I wish for the common flesh
I like the common man
To see through and through
It takes the honest emotion he gives
To subordinate to the love in me
My love takes the pro of past struggles
It insistently argue an analogical tale
It needs no fancies
Undecorated goes my love
When it sport an anniversary of beard
Where the jealous that enjoys him
Take control I am made his mate
When the urgency have possession
Of him and I am made his man.
