Many Who Do
On every street in every town,
there is a lonely person.
Someone who thinks
that no one really cares,
but there are many who do.
If the lonely people
would open their minds,
they would see those who do.

Early Works - The Virgin Maiden
The virgin maiden weeps
beneath a white sheet
after acting vicious and wild
when her boyfriend wanted
to give her his child,
but as you weep
oh; virgin maiden
you next time
might not be of him afraid.

Arnie Sweatyknickers (Fun Poem 35)
A few years ago, I used to
go to the gym twice a week;
I thought the exercise
would improve my physique.
My ex-boss saw me one day,
then declared Arnie Sweatyknickers
has come to town,
and a new action hero was born.

Giving
Giving is a trait that some people have,
giving comfort and kindness,
never expecting anything in return.
Giving out the hand friendship
to all who come their way,
for that is what giving is all about.

And Drove Straight On
The sign on the roadside said,
detour here to find love.
Beside it was an advertisement
for the latest Frankenstein film.
The romantic mood of Dr Frank
just around the corner.
I ignored the detour
and drove straight on.

It Is Forbidden
The smiling eyes,
alluring lips
greet me everyday,
but in front of me,
there is a sign that reads,
you can look,
but you can’t touch.
It is forbidden to go there.
You have a wonderful life,
why fill it with despair.

Hours In My Care
The cards are dealt
for a lonely game of solitaire
that I shall play to while away
the hours in my care.
Then to an empty bed, I go
to wait for morning light
and dream of my love
whom I’ll be with
come tomorrow night.

The Spoken Word
The spoken word takes many forms
in its hunger to be written down
translating itself through many minds
as it reaches out in many voices
until it eventually grasps the glory
and wears the eternal crown.

Thank You To A Special Friend
If everyone had a friend like you,
no one in this world
would ever be blue.
With the sunshine from your heart,
you can brighten up
even the saddest soul.
So my thanks
I am sending to you
for being a special friend to me.

Waltz Of A Lifetime
When love comes around
it is not always perfect,
sometimes it drags you down,
into the depths of despair.
Then a love comes around,
the best we have ever had,
this is the time,
we start to dance,
the waltz of a lifetime.
