Raindrops And Teardrops

Raindrops pitter-patter
against the windowpane,
teardrops run down my cheeks
whenever I am in pain.
The rain may hold a rhythm
when against my window falls;
tears on my cheeks
hold only sadness when they call.

Down At The Hacienda (Fun Poem 18)

Down at the Hacienda,
where the bullets,
were flying around.
A man lies shot on the ground.
My love was the one,
who shot him.
She was trying to shoot me.
Her aim was so bad;
she shot him,
while he was hiding behind a tree!

Savour The Moment

Each day we do things,
in our unconscious they store,
packed in our memories,
to remain there evermore.
Some maybe funny things,
some may be sad.
Never mind what they are,
we should savour the moment,
when they come to call.

Our Last Goodbye

Real friends are few,
and their friendship last a lifetime,
through the good times
and the bad times.
It never dies even after death;
it lives on through our memories,
which can never die,
even after we say our last goodbyes.

A Wind Of Change

There is a wind of change
blowing in the air.
That might change
the tide of war,
enemies might become friends
and weapons of destruction
might rust where they fall.
The wind of change
is certain to affect us all.

Collaboration

For JoAnn and Meggie
My two collaborating special friends

When you write in collaboration
all authors must have faith
in what the other writes,
for without it,
anything you write
starts showing at the seams.

A Little Bird Called Hope

On a sky west and crooked
flew a little bird called hope.
It flew with a message to tell everyone
that where there is hope,
love and charity are very soon to follow.
That where there is peace,
the winds of war will soon disperse.

Music Of Love

Listen to the music of love,
that seeps in from everywhere.
The rhythm of two hearts,
beating as one.
The murmurs of passion,
that consumes us all,
from time to time.
Listen to the music of love,
as it fills the air everywhere.

An Armada

An armada of colours
sailed up the Thames
not in anger, but in celebration.
Crowds lined the shores
and bridges they passed.
Music filled the rain-filled air
as they celebrated
a Diamond Jubilee of a gracious Queen.

Early Works - Trees

In fields of coloured leaves
there stand tall and noble trees
like statues in Trafalgar Square.
They stand straight and tall
with branches pointing
skyward in the air
these trees with noble flair.

Date unknown, probably 1960’s
