Kestrel
It climbs on thermals high
Hovers in air effortlessly bound
Looks down with ever watchful eye
At tiny specks on the ground
Moving shadow its only give away
Then down it swoops on its prey

Beyond The Cover
Beyond the cover of every book
new worlds wait to be explored.
Some hold many dangers,
others love and romance.
Whatever lie there
belongs to the author’s dreams.

Who Am I To Cast The First Stone
Every life will have its troubles
that reap the stones of scorn.
No one is perfect,
least of all myself alone.
Therefore, onto others,
who am I to cast the first stone.

His And Hers (Fun Poem)
One was blue and one was pink
They sat on a shelf above the bathroom sink
And while their owners were fast asleep
They chatted to one another all night long
These two pairs of false teeth.

On Their Holiday
The plane flew overhead,
its destination I do not know.
It raced across the blue sky
nudging clouds out of its way
as it took its passengers
far away on their holiday.

Santa Claus Comes To Our House
Santa Claus comes to our house
bringing presents for everyone.
Even our cats
get a present from him,
but only they see
whom Santa really is,
and their not letting on
I say thankfully.

Colours on Our Canvas
We splash colours on our canvas
in all the things we do,
the more vibrant the colour
the more we feel alive,
the more dull the colours
the greater our sadness reveals.

A Question
A soldier lay dying
on a battlefield
the enemy advance
they are younger than he.
He looks up and into their eyes.
A question crossed his lips
and the question was why.

Four Leaf Clover
I wish I could find
a four-leaf clover
to give me a bit of luck.
Therefore, off I trotted
to have a look.
I found a lot of clover,
but not one
four leafed clover there.

Love Light
When you’re in love
the love light shines from your eyes.
When you are unhappy,
there is a sad reflection there.
It goes without saying,
love brings out the best in us.
