The Elevator

Doors open
Doors close
The relieving sound dings
The bell rings
Button pressed
Emotion expressed
Innocence left on the top
Common sense? We think we got a lot

Suddenly it starts
Scary at first
Then it becomes normal you don't even know
Evil everywhere
Keep on moving
Ding
Ring
Ding
It keeps ringing
Going down

Above The Law

Too much trash
Too much pain
Too much hurt
Too much life

That's all it is to me, one negative instance after another
Good only wins in the movies
Evil triumphs in this world of ours
If it were not so, then these atrocities would not occur
Such a cacophonous symphony of death and suffering
Would not be the background for my very existence
I would say it's all meaningless
But the overwhelming sense of pain
The pang of loneliness
The strangle hold of isolation
The pessimism that fuels a consuming fire of depression
Like coals each trite observation engulfs me

Why do I feel this way you might ask?
Have you not seen this world?

Profound

I'm not speechless, because, look, I have so much to say
But I'm astonished, surprised, and more
This is not a chore
I'm excited to remind you, remind you of that day
When we had to wash dish after dish
The day you made me wish
I could see things like you
The day you helped change me forever too
Do you know that my outlook has never been the same?
Did you know that I wallowed in shame,
I felt afflicted by God with allergy and fall
Afflcited by hardship and insomnia and it all
But you opened my eyes so that I could see
That the whole way God had been helping me
I hadn't broken a bone
But yet I'd never known
Never thought, that He had saved me from harm
Protected my body, my head, my spirit, my hand, and even my arm
I don't know how to tahkn you enough
But I'm trying... Look I wrote all this stuff

Now It's My Turn

You've convinced me to deny who I am
Told me that I couldn't do it
When I figured out that I could you threw me into a pit
Of self pity and self insult, fed me your lies that my talent wasn't there
When I realized the truth that it was all you did was scare
Me into believing that my talent was destructive
Told me I could have self control
Told me I couldn't use this gift to console
But now I finally see through your lies I've seen through them

You were scared, full of fear
You were scared to the point of a dripping tear
You were scared I'd realize my calling
You were scared I'd revoke the statements of mundane
you were scared I'd actually sing
You were scared, and insane

I never once thought that all of these lies were from you
I never thought you spoke to me too
But now it's my turn

The Battle To Close My Eyes

I shut my eyes and shut them tight
This doesn't feel right
This can't be right

Why do you close your eyes?
What do you think you can do?
You think everything will just come to you?
This doesn't feel right
It can't be right

Shut my eyes harder
Close my ears
I cant hear
I cant see
This doesn't feel right
How can it be right?

Don't stop
Don't open
Don't give up
