Spring On The Runway
Spring wears gray today
Twirling in a foggy mist,
but her underlying colors
of daffodil orange and yellow,
azalea purple, and pink
tulip red and splashes of white...
What a sight to behold!
Forsythia gold,
so bold,
apple-blossom pink
thinks
spring is ravishin in gray and
her smile comes shinning through,
to prove it's true.

An Ode to Desire
If prince charming
Had seen your face,
Etched in fine carved ebony,
Sleeping beauty would still
Be sleeping.
Had he chanced upon the beauty
Of your smile,
Caught the flash of your
White teeth,
Looked into your big brown eyes,
He would have gotten lost
In the wonder of them
Never finding his way to the ball
And Cinderella would still be
Scrubbing floors barefoot.
If Leonardo had seen you first,
Mona Lisa would be wearing
A different smile

I Sing A Sad Song
I sing a sad song for the cold, lonely
Moments no one will admit to aloud.
I sing a sad song for all of the broken
Promises,
Wrought by circumstances beyond
Anyone's control.
I sing a sad song for the faces pressing
Against the window panes in longing.
I sing a sad song for wild anticipation
Of days that never come.
I sing a sad song for the telephone
That never rings enough.
I sing a sad song for dreams woven of
Hopeless illusions.

We Said Goodbye
We said goodbye
Long before this final farewell.
My heart once cold to any thought
Of you,
Retraces the path we took to love
So long ago.
I shed a tear for those fond memories,
And fight through the veil of time and space
That came between us.
I call no name to blame,
I will not curse the
Time lost that might have been.
Farewell to you once loved so dearlly,
How did we forget the forever of it?
Farewell!
Farewell!
I scatter you on the wind and wings
Of my memories.
Farewell,
Some day I shall

Sorrow's Twin
I am sorrow's twin,
No smiles here.
I have forgotten the sound
Of my own laughter...
I ramble around in dark rooms,
Stand in corners of dispair.
Can't get out of here.
My twin, sorrow,
Lay heavy on my chest,
So heavly I cannot rest.
Go away, you foolish whims
Speaking in whispers of a
Better tomorrow...
Leave me here with my twin
Sorrow!
She knows me better than you;
Makes no promises to be
Broken,
Gives out no token
Lies of peace and truth.

Love Tucked Away
Love tucked away
In two hearts
Where neither jealousy
Or envy could enter.
You are always beside me
As sister, friend and mentor.
Love tucked away,
In all the kind things you
Have done to help me grow,
I just had to say it again,
So you would know
How much I cherish
The kind of friend you are,
Love tucked away,
Whether we are near or far.
Love tucked away,
A treasure so deep in my heart,
You've been my friend
Right from the start.
Since the day we first met,

Mellow Mood of Christmas
The mellow mood of Christmas
Soft music and thoughts of you
Thrill me through and through.
I relive childhood dreams filled
With laughter and candy canes
An orange, a few nuts and one apple
Just simple little things...
There's not much money this year,
Mama said tucking us all in bed...
Her smile was warm like a gentle kiss
And we didn't miss the flashy
Red wagon or the crying doll
We thought we had it all...
And we did,
Oh yes we did.
It was Christmas in a house filled
With love and music and
Those peppermint candy canes,
Home made cookies, and
Made up games...and

I Owe A Debt To Spring II
Oh, I owe a debt to spring!
She brought me wild flowers and
Hardy daffodils,
Beautiful, velvet, green carpeted hills.
She brought the mist of April showers,
With the promised bloom of May flowers.
Birds came back to sin,
Oh, I owe a debt to spring!
I see the colors of a rainbow dancing
Across the sky,
Spring came in with a lullaby.
I owe a debt to spring for the love
You bring to me, my love, to me!
I shall plant moss roses, dear spring,
To dance at your feet,
Spring time is the best time for nature's
bouquet of happiness complete...
O, I owe a debt to spring, for you, my love,

Cruising The Chesapeake
Skyline fading in evening haze...
The air is warm and still...
Music lost in the sweltering heat - and
No one brave enough to dance
Although the beat is good.
Baltimore, we hail your flickering lights in the
Distance as we graduate toward your land marks...
Ft. McHenry first - we salute you!
Bouys flash caution while smoke and night
Darken the sky...
Waves whisper as we cruise - no air to prod them
On to loud conversation!
Baltimore skyline,
Shadows etched in dark and light harmony...
No breeze echoes the crowd but light laughter
Makes the evening sweet.
Card players top side...slap - slap...
No other motion in that corner...
Wind indicator tells a sad tale but we trail
The water path gallantly waving at the
