the older i get
the more comfortable
i feel
with the concept
of God as Mother
and the less i fear death!

sands trickling through
an hourglass,
on a bare table,

total and reckless
abandon,

malnutrated bodies
walking in clouds of dust.
open sores on the face

of the human condition....

yet we sit transfixed,
....with marble dumb stares,

numbed by the drug
...that fills the hollow

i thought i was the universe,
but i was only a leaf.
when i fell in the forest,
there was no one to hear my cry.
when i turned brittle and brown,
no one mourned my decay.
