More Than Our Earth Mother

I've loved Mother Nature since I was a boy
And to me she remains as a source of great joy
Her beauty is everywhere all around me
In Nature there's so much to learn of and see
My wonder of her only does seem to grow
Yet little of her ways I do seem to know
Her secrets with human kind she does not share
With the wonders of Nature there's none to compare
I'll say it again I've often said it before
We are Nature's life forms that and nothing more
You who take Nature for granted you have got it all wrong
She is more than our Earth Mother to her we belong
She will live on forever on us a use by date
And her Reaper the one who will decide our fate.

Festival Port Fairy Town

In the music World it is a place of renown
For it's huge annual musical festival Port Fairy Town
And for it's coastal beauty it is also well known
One might say it does have a charm of it's own
A gem of Victoria's coastal south west
Where the muttonbirds in Spring come to mate and nest
On Griffith Island by the Pacific sea
In an Earthly Utopia it does seem to me
Port fairy is known as a touristy place
Though life is lived there at a leisurely pace
The locals there friendly as friendly can be
I've never met anyone there rude to me
And though homes to buy it does seem are much cheaper elsewhere
If I had plenty money I would like to live there.

On What Constitutes Freedom

On what constitutes freedom we do not agree
For what is freedom to you is not freedom to me
That Countries should have borders you see as okay
But I look at that in a different way
In our thinking of freedom we have got it wrong
The Country we live in to us does not belong
The borders we create we have to defend
One reason that war in the World may not end,
You boast of your love of your National flag
To you something like that does seem well worth a brag
Suppose to each their own as some are known to say
We all look at things in a different way
Your idea of freedom is different to mine
But that you have your own opinions does suit me fine.

Leonardo

The one on portrait hanging on the wall
Perhaps the best that history can recall
He lived and worked five hundred years ago
And still the legend of Leonardo grow.

A Poet, a Scientist and an Engineer
An Inventor and an Artist without peer
From near poverty to fame at a time
When to be poor was looked on as a crime.

Leonardo the greatest son of Italy
Opened the gate to modern technology
No stranger to the book of history
In five hundred years no greater one than he.

Five centuries back he said that man would fly
And the legend live his fame will never die
His dusty portrait in old frame hang on wall
Perhaps the best that history can recall.

Sing Something That's Happy

Do not sing me a song that will bring me to tears
That will make me nostalgic for the long gone years
My prime years of life I don't wish to recall
Sing something that's happy or nothing at all
Though few things in life ever does seem to last
The past has gone forever why sing of the past
To the father of time we are destined to bow
But I want to be happy and live in the now
In a decade from now I will be an old man
But I want to be happy for as long as I can
Sing something that's joyful and merry and light
I do want to laugh and be happy tonight
The sweet sound of laughter is a joyous thing
Do sing something that's happy if you wish to sing.

A War About God And A War About Land

A war about God and a war about Land
The tragic loss of lives I do not understand
A just war in truth is a damnable lie
For in modern day conflicts many civilians do die
Old hatreds they live on for centuries of years
And gives rise to suffering and bloodshed and tears
And every day of conflicts and wars we do hear of and read
And despite what some say war to peace never lead
The war supposed to end all wars was fought decades ago
But that is a fallacy as we do know
But with them it is never let bygones be gone
Old hatreds in mistrust in them living on
Another old hatred in conflict is raging today
Where many innocents die in a Land far away.

Tiger Woods

He is many times over a multi millionaire
And arguably the World's greatest ever golf player
The golfer most young golfers would love to emulate
The legendary sports star and a golfing great
'Tis true Tiger Woods is the golfer to beat
In every golf tournament in which he compete
For many years now the World's number one
So many golf majors the great champ has won
The golfer who has proved himself in every test
That's why by so many he is rated as the best
Professional golfer in the World of today
By millions beyond the borders of the U S of A
The World's number one golfer for many years now
Though to the father of time he eventually must bow.

The One And Only Immortal

Those who do love Nature are blessed indeed
For all of her friends our Earth Mother does need
The one every life form on Planet Earth does feed
Has been made to suffer due to human greed
The greedy for financial gain her beauty try to destroy
A beauty that is meant for all to enjoy
For their crimes humanity may have to pay
That does seem a sad thing for to have to say
The beauty of Nature is an amazing thing
And her praises one ought to feel happy to sing
The one who will be here long after to nothingness we've gone
The only immortal will be living on
And we who abuse her for our financial greed
Are not very clever and self destructive indeed.

Just Leave Me With Nature

A stranger to any success or renown
And if I should die far south of old Millstreet Town
It will not matter to me then where my bones will lay
Just leave me with Nature and I will be okay
Does not matter if they bury me or to ashes me they burn
From Nature I came and to her I'll return
In immortal Mother Nature so much to admire
And of singing her praises could one ever tire,
The wonders of Nature is an amazing thing
And the praises of Nature with joy we should sing
We are part of Nature it does seem to me
Though many with my thinking may not agree
To your unseen God you may kneel for to pray
But in Mother Nature's bosom your remains will lay.
