Life

Places, faces, friends or foe,
Life gathers as we sow,
Dreams scatter as harsh winds blow,
Lovers say their empty words then go,
Familiar voices we long to hear,
To comfort us in all our fears,
Life as complex as the incoming tides,
Sometimes soft and serene,
More times fast and turbulent,
Bringing us plenty of woe,
Our time will come, when we will know,
The calm, the stillness,
The silence of our souls.

The Essence Is You

Lover of life, every man dreamt of you being his wife,
Long blond hair shimmering in the sunlight,
A golden face, forever smiling,
You held the reins of your destiny,
Your choice was love, as your soul ran free,
Cherishing the roots that made you,
When you disappeared the sun was blotted out,
Dark clouds brooding over the town,
Suspicions, hearsay and rumours abound,
Forces unknown had swallowed you up,
No trace remains of the flower that was you,
Only sadness and death is left on the doorstep,
The essence lingers long over a midland throng,
The essence is you watching from heavens view.

Coming Home

Punchestown races a glorious extravaganza,
You had a flutter on Fuchsia Belle,
Tall white haired man, softest baby blue eyes,
Everything new and wondrous to you,
Without any fuss you showered your warmth,
Outside the rain lashed down relentlessly,
All together we were like long lost pals,
As you wove your pure spell,
Watching as horses fell, virgin territory
For the farmer with plenty of charm,
Never doing anybody any harm,
A life dedicated to your beloved farm.
Years have passed many changes taking place,
Lover of nature, plenty of patience as you work at your own pace,
Gentleness oozes from your eyes like water over a smooth stone,
You hold my hand, i feel i am coming home.

Just Another Day

Just another day, when my heart sings with the sweetness,
Of endless loving things,
Souls intertwined and locked, as deep as the Grand Canyon,
Please don't mock,
Our world is rich, vivid with colours blending smoothly,
On a artists palette,
Pictures of a couple, in bloom midway through life,
A long way yet, from the sanctuary of our tomb,
Honesty binding us like sheaves of hay,
In ever sunshine fields of may,
Life is a roller-coaster, with no shady deals,
Memories deleted, as we focus on our passionate reckless abandonment,
With dreams of a humble abode, with no foe's, just your loving doe,
Just another day, even when strong winds blow,
When i see your splendid face,
I can challenge this life, at any pace,
My man is full of spirit and fun, he is more than a king,
Pat is an ace,
Just another day, when together, we will win life's enduring race.

Dickie

I will always remember your joyfulness,
The way you liked being the best,
The cabbages, cauliflowers and tomatoes you grew
Were always the biggest by far, than all the rest,
Like yourself a big man, tall and broad,
Sparkling blue eyes, warmest smile you ever saw,
Loud booming voice, as strong as your presence,
Honest and so so kind like an angel from heaven,
Your simple ways, were as pure as the earth you loved,
Roses and tulips blooming in abundance,
From gifted hands, that toiled so hard.

You spoke your mind, your spirit strong,
Standing up when people did wrong,
You were known by so many,
People drawn to your warmth and charm,
You have gone from us all many a year,
Our hearts ache, as our eyes fill with tears,
The man we knew as Dickie who had no fear,
We wish he was back beside us near,

The Midnight Hour

Daytime blues, waiting for the beguiling midnight hour,
The clock strikes twelve, my mind floats free above,
On an old rustic dream boat,
Sailing with a south-west wind, blowing on the wide blue ocean,
Plenty of time, for plenty of notions,
Reaching inwardly to the past, searching for that elusive magic potion,
Like a silky cream lotion, caressing my warm tingling body,
Music plays from my cherry red lips,
Like the sound of the haunting tune of the flute,
Your face appears before me, so endearingly cute,
My eyes hunt for your inner mysterious persona,
Sensations, celebrations, my first love,
With passions reaching so high above,
If only I had been wise then, played the game differently,
I wonder would you have loved me too,
The surprise is I still long for my sweet song,
Melody without melancholy,
Truth without your cunning,
A price to be paid,
To high for mixed up me,

Brand New

I lived your dream of faraway places,
Conversations of sunshine forever and smiling faces,
Your appetite for living, drew me closer to you,
Neverending adventures, with a glorious abundance of everything new
Passion for the earth you loved, with your friends high up above,
You generously filled my cup to the overflowing brim,
Encouraging me to stand up and fight to win,
Against all that pain and anxiety inflicted on me,
You spread a velvet red carpet before my feet,
As you brought to life the magic of temples, lagoons and desert sand,
Winds of change, just part of your nomadic life,
Blowing away the entrapment of isolation,
My heart sang a new tune in key,
With renewed zest, hope and love that i could see,
Laughter was always your guest,
Happiness dissolving the conflict and mess,
Safe in your arms for a while,
Giving me space to shine, with every mile,
I could breathe in the scented, intoxicating aroma of the roses you brought,
White, pink, red, golden hue and a smiling you,

Garden Of Eden

Sunbeams, with bundles of fun,
Shining, shimmering green quest,
A new nest, in garden of eden's best,
My soul is calm here, even with all, my unsung fears,
Laughter united, like a torchlight showing, how bright it is along this merry way,
Moments of freedom, in abundance every day,
Life is a serenade, with no time to ever fade.

Forever young, riding horses along leafy country lane's,
The intoxicating fertile earth, blending with my deep emotions,
Love is shouting here from the fields, every tree, every dazzling mountain view,
My heart sings a never-ending haunting tune,
My soul rejoicing in the exquisite splendour,
Soaring like a golden eagle, to heights unknown,
I never want to say goodbye, to finding truth at last,
That ain't no lie.

Moments

Moments of sheer exhilaration,
Riding finely tuned thoroughbreds, in a horse lovers nation,
Falling leaves, upon sweet smelling meadows like cunning thieves,
Sprinkles of raindrops tied in silky bows, intricately weaved,
Silver moons shimmering iconically, in a inky black sky,
Fairytales and legends, that ain't no lie,
Castles, ancient towers, holy wells, the sound of church bells.

Peace is here now, tranquillity shining everyday,
With polished sunshine and rain that can't be tamed,
Life is rich in song and poetry
In a land obsessed, with the art of being free,
Mountains, lakes and forests congregate in glorious opulence,
Moments to dance with nature's own kind,
Nobody is ever left behind,
Moments, moments of a lifetime, that always rhymes.

Rebecca

You spent your first few months, in the royal county of Meath,
A landscape so bountiful, of green pastures, majestic castles and leafy trees,
Born beautiful with deep brown eyes, like creamy milk chocolate spun so fine,
You glow like a moonlit night, with stars shining so bright,
No dark shadows, just Irish charm tied in shimmering satin bows,
Allurement with such delightful grace,
Like rare vintage lace,
Quality and class never dates.

Your granny, grandad and I made a cocoon for you,
Perfect child, thoughtful, kind, always something special in you, to find,
Grown up now, you live life at full throttle,
Travel a specialty, that you take on with such ease,
Standing out with your iconic style,
Always wanting to go that extra mile,
With your charming, honey touched smile,
No time to sigh, never thirsty for love's sweet melody.
