~I Choose the Mountain~

The low lands call
I am tempted to answer
They are offering me a free dwelling
Without having to conquer

The massive mountain makes its move
Beckoning me to ascend
A much more difficult path
To get up the slippery bend

I cannot choose both
I have a choice to make
I must be wise
This will determine my fate

I choose, I choose the mountain
With all its stress and strain
Because only by climbing
Can I rise above the plane

Repressive Recklessness

Irresponsibility has been an enemy to me
I am not even close to where I should be
I find myself drifting like a log on the sea
Oh Mr. Responsibility hear my desperate plea

Irresponsibility has caused me excruciating pain
I wonder if I’ll ever recover and make some gain
I am like an air craft tumbling towards the ground
Oh Mr. Responsibility please help me turn around

Irresponsibility has been my down fall
Instead of progressing I have had to crawl
Irresponsibility has held me down for too long
I am terribly tired of singing the losers song

I take responsibility for my life today
Irresponsibility will never again hold sway

A Fallen Tree

Who will dance with the wind now that you’re really gone?
Who will catch the sun’s rays on the hot summer morn?

Who will slow down the gust when it’s out of control?
Who will dilute the air that’s toxic to my soul?

Who will speak to the clouds about sending the rain?
Who will shelter me from the storm and soothe my pain?

Who will stand in the rain when others hide away?
Who will provide a place for little birds to play?

Who will catch my rain drops before they touch the ground?
Who will keep luxuriant grass from turning brown?

Who will present me a fruit for my morning dish?
Who will nourish my eyes and satisfy my wish?

Who will fix this huge hole in the soil of my heart?
Who will give me comfort now that we are apart?

Boasting About Trees

There you stood among other trees
In a garden of legendary emeralds
Your luxuriant leaves waving to the heavens
You arresting branches kissing the sky
Honey cannot be compared to thee
You are my mango tree

My enraptured eyes are still swimming in bliss
From the first time they saw you
Untouched, unspoiled and unsurpassed
Flora of such sublime character
Honey cannot be compared to thee
You are my mango tree

My heart swims in the deluge of desire
Sweet songs of attraction, passion and fire
It is you that awakens my appetite
My dulcet cynosure
Honey cannot be compared to thee
You are my mango tree

Something Big

An ocean swims in every tear drop
A river rejoices in every dropp of rain
A thunder talks in every heart beat
The wind laughs in every breath
The sun speaks in every smile
Something big in every little thing!

A forest hides in every acorn
A mountain shelters in every pebble
An eagle glides in every butterfly
A millennium inhabits every moment
A library dances in every idea
Something big in every little thing!

A great nation hibernates in every child
A great journey lives in every foot step
A million dollars sleep in every dime
An orchestra flies in every singing bird
The heart of an elephant powers every ant
something big in every little thing!

A Hug

Biology invigorated by Chemistry and empowered by Geography
infuses us with a plethora of poignant sensations, embraced by
the velvet of tenderness and clasped in the arms of monogamy.
My heart is made of metal and yours, my virtuous bride, of magnet.
Evocative and provocative energy enmeshes our nostalgia.
Conjugal ripples from the surface of our skin rush through our veins
into our deepest depths until reciprocal osmosis becomes orgasmic.

The wind is tired of its futile attempts to get between us.
You are the gloves on my hands and the paint on my wall.
Squeezing and teasing, huddling and cuddling, unifying and satisfying-
tangled together in the tranquil tapestry of inseparability.
I have captured the warmth of the sun and the romance of the moon,
and gift wrapped them with my own sweat and tears just for you.
Drip drop, drip drop, until you are enveloped in the ocean of my love.

A Kiss

Exiled on the isle of passion and shackled in the prison of craving.
Bottled up emotion - screaming and shouting and searching for an escape.
Like a dehydrated deer tracking water -Like a desert hunting an oasis.
Deluge of flames enrapture my being with the fervor of a thousand fire.
Tranquillized by cloud of restraint yet burning with the inferno of love.
Raining from the sky of my being- cascading from my connubial essence.
Sunshine from the hub of my heart, moistens my lips in the dew of desire.
Pregnant with the passion of the sun and birthing the beauty of a rose.
Visuality captures my appetite like predator pouncing on prey.
Tenderly touching - meticulously massage like a cool breeze in summer.
Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone, lips of my lips, tongue of my tongue.
Giving and receiving, urging and merging, tightening and heightening.
Sugar cane and honey splashed together-overflowing into a river of release.
Floating on ecstasy, as time stands still to salute the creation of art.

Who Locked The Boys Out?

Once I saw some boys
Outside a gate
They had come to school
But they were very late
Everywhere was closed
All about
It caused me to wonder
Who locked the boys out?

I saw a group
On the outside
It was graduation day
But they had come to play
The girls were inside ready to go
But for the boys it was not so
They were outside walking all about
I asked who locked the boys out?

~The Power of a Tear~

Pounds of pain punctured my progress
Tons of trouble terminated my tranquility
Swarms of stress subtracted my substance
My heart exploded like a thousand thunders
My mind melted and my spirit splintered
Hanging by a thread destined to burst

I tried to wash away the wounds with words
But the stains were deeply dyed in concrete colors
Verbal detergents were badly and sadly defeated
Verbosity crumbled, fell at my feet and retreated
Internal torment was the architect of my demise
Terrorizing my thoughts and hijacking my hope

Music tried to massage me out of my misery
But though the words were so wonderful
And the melody so moving and majestic
Misfortune only mushroomed and multiplied

I sought solution in the fraternity of friends
