My Father's Hands
My Father's Hands
As I look upon my father's hands
now a spotted, wrinkled road map,
that time, sun and sweat,
have hardened them to a painted tortoise shell.
Those, the same hands that I once feared,
and yet at the same time so gentle
that they held my tiny hand deep within.
I feared nothing as if he was the grace of God.
Will they still remember me?

Work Together
Work Together*
Every creature on earth has feelings no matter the age
And the 'Go Getters' want to set their own stage
They forget how they got to be so smart
For they were taught by the older one's heart
We learn from our elders on what we should do
and we should all work together to see all things through

Sorrow Seeks...
Sorrow Seeks...
Sorrow seeks...
Like the roots of weeds
And as the roots grow deeper
the weight descends
Like gnarled hands grasping at your throat
Choking out the beauty within
A dandelion with a face that glows of golden sun
But within the soil it's roots grow so deep
With one pluck you think it is gone for good
Only to return stronger than before
Sorrow seeks...
Like the roots of weeds

I'm Without A Valentine Today
I'm Without A Valentine Today
I'm without a Valentine today
When my life is in such disarray
One to comfort me and see me through
It's so much easier when there's two
I'm without a Valentine today
One that loves me in every way
That special someone to hold my hand
and walk with me when life demands
I'm without a Valentine today
I don't need candy or bouquets
Just a long loving embrace
to lead me to a passionate place

Loves's Laughter
Love's Laughter
Love's laughter travels on Zephyr's gentle breeze
Touching all ages to come and taste the treasures
More joyous then all the Christmas gifts under the tree
Beautifully wrapped and waiting to be opened
More glorious then a mother holding her new born child
Years seem to shed when Love's laughter travel by
Time is irrelevant
Oh to only hear the sweet soft titter of ones in love
Lost in their own Love's laughter

This Flower
This Flower
This flower with petals so soft to touch
Cradles nature's portal
Where waves rise
and sweet ambrosia falls
This flower with petals so delicate and refined
Lay at the entryway of an open vessel
Waiting with a velvet whisper
to be filled with the seeds of nature's life
This flower with petals so tame and silent
Begs the onlooker to experience it's hiddenness
And after one look, one taste
She has caught her prize

Happy 61st Anniversary Mom and Dad
Happy 61st Anniversary Mom and Dad
61 years together you graced this land
So many good stories to tell us all
And even the bad one's that you recall
But still you where so strong to see it through
Setting examples for all to see and do
You've been there and done that in your life
Not much you haven't done in joy or strife
You two definitely wrote the book
on how to marry and what it took
So Happy 61st Anniversary Mom and Dad
I hope you have many more...that would make me glad

Awakens
Awakens
Memories......
that linger on in shadows of thought
Dusty illusions caught in a web of desire
Pushed back
and dwarfed by darkness
With but one kiss
forever burns and ignites
these words that I write
Longings wantonly hidden
With but one kiss
Passion flames arise
with searing tears
and I was moved

Free Frogs
Free Frogs
Hi! My name is Frannie,
Frannie Frog
I'd like to introduce you
to my three brothers
Bud
Weis
and Er
They are currently looking for a new home
They would prefer
a damp slimy pond,
with lots of bugs.
But will settle for
a nice pad in the suburbs
They love big wet kisses

Where Have All The Robins Gone?
Where have all the robins gone?
They've left and gone to soon
Their empty hollow loving nests
are stilled against the moon
A Spring that was, has come and gone
The worms have dug down deep
Summer's warmth has left the earth
Fall's harvest here to reap
I beg the Winter stay away
To cruel and cold for me
But nature has it's purpose
Rest now......then you will see
Spring returns the Robin's breast
Lost in fields of flowers
