‘holy Family Church House-warming, Perundurai, T.n.’
Excerpt from Dr John Celes’ Welcome Speech
(to be held on 05-02-2010)
The Shepherd comes to meet his flock,
And bless the church that’s newly built,
Wherein an older church had stood on rock –
A sacred ground of prayer for Catholics!
Let’s welcome him; let’s welcome him, ye sheep!
He brings with him his staff that protects us;
This is the time our hearts with joy must weep;
The anointing will give us greater bliss.
Let’s thank the Lord for giving us this house
Of prayer to worship the ‘King of kings’;
Let everyone take Jesus Christ as spouse,
And tread the road to heaven as earthlings.
The Church though small looks splendidly laid out;
It has been christened ‘Holy Family Church’;

Japanese Tsunami,2011
The sea has turned angry again!
A strong quake hit the Japanese Isles;
The sea-water has gone over-land,
And caused enormous loss of lives!
Three lakhs have been rendered homeless;
Many had stayed upon the roads;
The cold made life so difficult!
The island has shifted eight feet!
The giant waves tossed ships, trains, cars;
Whole houses wrecked moved i n its wake;
Bridges and roads have been destroyed;
Some saved were standing on roof-tops!
Some families have been wiped out1
Death took many by great surprise;
Many are traumatised and ill;
A few minutes had made life hell!

The God of Love Speaks to Man…
I gave you hands to grasp and work
With finesse, deftly, and eat food;
I thought you'll fold your hands and pray,
And thank me for the gifts I gave!
But you use hands to hurt and kill,
And do all sinful things your way!
I gave you legs that carry you,
And stand upright and walk my ways;
I thought you'll genuflect and pray,
And thank me for all that I do;
But you tread upon evil paths
And leave my tenets, go astray!
I gave you eyes upon your face
To see the good world I had made;
I thought you'll read the word of mine,
And live your life in accordance.
But you use eyes to see the muck
That spoils your heart and mind and soul!

IRT PMCians' Alumni Meet, Perundurai,24th March,2012
This day is one memorable
To all who made it to this meet;
We join colleagues to enable,
Enquiry, foster ties and greet.
We're here to see our old campus,
And talk to teachers, friends, so dear;
We're back to see the greenery,
And walk the lanes with joyful tear!
Our college days were good indeed,
But could have been a bit better;
Yet, we can't live always with greed:
Be content in spirit, letter!
Just when we thought our college days
Were blissful to our hearts and souls,
Time tolled the bell to part our ways,
To take new roads, attaining goals!

Bible in Poetry: Revelation 4
1And then, I looked and saw a door
Before me, open in heaven.
The voice I had first heard, then spoke,
A trumpet-like to me and said,
'You come up here, and I’ll show you
What ought to take place after this.'
2At once, I was in Spirit’s way,
And there before me lay a throne,
In heaven, on which someone sat.
3 The one who sat upon it looked
Akin to jasper, carnelian.
An emerald-like rainbow lay,
Encircling throne in gorgeous way.
4Around the throne were twenty-four
More thrones, and elders sat on them.
They’re clad in dress of purest white,
And wore gold crowns upon their heads.
5 And from the throne arose flashes
Of lightning and peals of thunder.
Before the throne, blazed seven lamps,

Anna Hazare – Icon of Anti-Corruption War In India
He fights for just a cause,
A righteous man because;
He garners support much;
And has a golden touch!
He aims to serve brethren;
Through them God in heaven;
The country’s gone corrupt;
But bill can’t come abrupt!
He won many laurels;
Today, he just quarrels;
He wants to cleanse the land;
He has clean slate and hand!
Yet, precious is his life;
Corruption is so rife;
He ought to set time-frame;
But who will take the blame?

St. Peter Julian Eymard, ‘The Apostle of the Eucharist’
Founder, Societas Sanctissimi Sacramenti (SSS)
And Third Order of Mary (Feb 4,1811- Aug 1,1868)
The saint exhorted:
‘Go set the world afire,
For love of Eucharist!
Adore the Lord Jesus
In the Blessed Sacrament.’
‘Glorify God always;
Let Eucharist reign world;
Go often to Jesus,
Alive in Eucharist.’
‘The Holy Eucharist
Is the fountain of life;
Receive the Lord Jesus,
Often into your heart! ’

The Babe in the Womb
This is my home;
This is my own;
I am alone;
No one’s welcome!
It is all free
For ten months’ time;
My sweet home prime,
Where I must be!
On watery bed,
I sleep for hours;
And time does pass,
And I’m not dead!
I have no shocks;
I roll about;
I do not shout;
I get no knocks!

Most Modern Youth
Most youngsters want to stand on their own legs;
They cannot accept what some adults say;
They wish to see the world through their own eyes;
They love to live a life of their own make.
They differ from the views what elders give;
Their driving force is curiosity;
Their satisfaction comes from what they do;
What others preach can’t please them anytime.
They want to experience life in own ways;
They choose a path more risky, dangerous;
They think that they can do almost all things;
The sky is only limit for their feats.
Fed up of doing things traditionally,
They veer from paths and terrain much trodden,
And slip into the lanes least taken by
Mankind on earth, although more perilous.

Good Friday
The Crucifixion- Jesus Spoke Seven Times
The day was Friday and time: Nine O’clock:
To Golgotha, the ‘Place of Skull’, they came;
And on the cross, they wrote His glorious name:
I N R I: in Latin, Greek, Hebrew-
‘Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews’
And Jesus spoke for the very first time:
‘Father, forgive them for they do not know
What they are doing.” Lk 23: 34
They tore His garments and auctioned them Mt 27: 25
They mocked at Jesus, and spat on his face; Mt 27: 39
The thieves spoke angrily to him but one
Believed that Jesus was truly a king.
And Jesus spoke for the second time thus:
“Truly, I say to you, today,
You will be with me in Paradise.” Lk 23: 43
