Bible Stories: Job (Chapter IX)

Then Job said, ‘I know truth is so.
But can man justify with God?
By arguments, he can’t win God;
God’s wise in heart and almighty.’

Who dares the Lord and be unscathed?
God moves mountains before we know;
God overturns them in anger!
He shakes the earth out of her place.

Pillars beneath tremble thereof;
He orders sun and it doesn’t rise;
He seals up stars, stretching heavens;
He treads upon crests of sea-waves;

He made the Bear, Orion, Pleiades,
And constellations of the south;
He does great things ‘’yond reckoning’
He goes by me, I see Him not.

Bible Stories: Job (Chapter XXXX)

The Lord then said to Job:
Can critics argue with the Lord?
Who corrects, lets him reply God.

Job answered God and said:

Behold, I’m insignificant!
What can I tell God, brilliant?
Over my mouth, I’ve put my hand;
Although, I’ve spoken once, twice and
I’m silent: You can reprimand!

The Lord told Job, out of the storm:
Gird up your loins and speak up, man!
Answer my queries, if you can.

Do you not acknowledge my right?
Do you unjustly condemn, fight?
Have you an arm like that of God?
Can voice of yours thunder like Lord?

Bible in Poetry: 1 John 4

Do not believe in all spirits;
Find out if they have come from God;
False prophets have come to the world;
But how can you ascertain them?

A spirit that acknowledges
That Jesus came in flesh from God,
Is from God, Almighty Father;
And that which says that Christ isn’t Lord,
Is spirit of the antichrist,
Which you have heard is coming now,
And has already entered world.

You are from God too, dear children;
You’ve overcome the bad spirits;
The one in you is greater than
The one found in the world by man;

They’re from the world and speak like-wise;
The world listens as they entice;

Oh Captain, Thy Enemy Is Within!

Oh Captain, Thy enemy is within!
Buck up then, our rank and file is thin;
’Twas peace-time; our soldiers o’er-slept awhile;
Beware; the enemy is but a mile!

Ye tried thy best so long, I can vouch tho’,
Thy strategies failed, ye better know;
Precious time is lost; Wake up great soldier!
Do or die Sir! But fly thy flag higher.

O brave Captain, thy foes look stronger;
The traitors shan’t mislead any longer;
The Cat is out of the bag; Truth bespeaks;
’Tis not too late; ’Tis not the war’s peak.

Ye did well; just muster up thy courage;
Protect us from the enemy’s barrage;
Things can’t go on like this; so buck up man;
Change strategies to succeed if you can.

Bible in Poetry: 1 John 3

Children of God, that we are called,
Reveals our Father’s love lavished.
The reason why world doesn’t know us,
Is because they don’t know Him yet.

We are children of God, dear friends:
We know that when He reappears,
Like Him, we shall be, and see Him;
The one who has this hope within,
Will keep himself pure and not sin.

All sinners break the laws of God,
And sin is lawlessness and odd;
So, Jesus came to take our sins,
Although in Him, there is no sin.
The one who lives in Him won’t sin;
The one who sins cannot see Him.

Do not let one lead you astray;
The one who does right is righteous;

‘Poverello’ – the Life-story of St.Francis of Assisi (1181-1226)

The grace of God ’lone suffices
To help all persons live on earth,
A life, God-directed, divine,
And leave the world in happy state!

A wealthy merchant father’s son,
The boy was christened ‘Giovanni’
After ‘St.John, the Baptist’;
His name was changed to ‘Francesco’;
The lad grew up in lavish ways!

The boy was fond of songs in French-
Troubadours and French traditions;
He was a Roman Catholic,
But loved his Mother Nature much.

His father wished son be like him:
A wealthy businessman and great!
The boy grew up at first that way;
And led a group of raucous men!

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. John (Chapter 2)

There was a wedding in Cana,
And Jesus’ mother had gone there;
Invited was Jesus also;
His disciples attended too.

When wine ran short, His mother told,
Jesus, “They have no wine to serve.”
But Jesus asked. back, ‘Why tell me? ’
“How does that concern me? ” He asked.
“My hour has not yet come.” He said.

His mother told the servers all,
“Do whatev’r He tells you to do.”
There were six water-jars of stone,
Meant for Jewish ceremonies.
Each could hold some thirty gallons.

When Jesus told, ‘Fill up the jars
With water up to brim, ’ they did.
Then Jesus told them, ‘Draw out some

Saul turns Paul: The Road to Damascus

Blinded by a brilliant light,
On the road to Damascus,
Saul of Tarsus, on horse-back
Heard the voice of Jesus Christ:
‘Saul Saul, why persecute me? ’
‘Who are you? ’ Asked Saul at once.
‘I am Jesus Christ and Lord! ’
Saul saw Christ in apparition!
Others saw the light as well,
But couldn’t hear the divine voice!

Hit by the bolt of light from sky,
Saul fell from his horse-back to ground;
The voice bade him enter city,
Where he would be told what to do;
For three days, Saul remained just blind
And did not eat and drink ever!

Ten years’ younger than Jesus Christ,
Saul annihilated Christians

Bible in Poetry: 1 Corinthians 6

Lawsuits among Believers:

1If you have dispute with the next,
Don’t take it to the ungodly
For judgment instead of the saints?
2 Don’t you know that saints judge world?
And if you are to judge the world,
Can you not judge trivial cases?
3 Don’t you know that we’ll judge angels?
How much more then things of this life!
4 If you have disputes on such things,
Appoint as judges even men,
Of little account in the church!
5 I say this only to shame you.
Is it not possible for one
Among you wise enough to judge
A dispute between believers?
6 But brother fight against brother—
And in front of non-believers!
7 The fact that you have lawsuits then,

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Mark (Chapter 13)

While coming out of temple’s area,
One of his disciples said to Jesus,
“Look Teacher, what stones; what buildings! ”
And Jesus said, “There will not be one stone
Left upon another, that’s not thrown down! ”

While sitting on Mount Olives, some asked Him,
“What sign will appear when things come to end? ”
But Jesus said, “See that you’re not deceived.”
Many will come in my name to deceive.
When happen wars, it will not be the end.
Kingdoms and nations will fight each other.

Earthquakes and famines will be beginnings;
Watch out for they will hand you to the courts;
In synagogues, you’ll beaten be!
Because of me, you will suffer a lot;
But Gospel must be preached to nations first.

Do not worry what you must say ahead.
