Haven Of Love

Romance
came at morning
love story without end
we stole a kiss by the river
the haven of love way down in the glen
soprano voices came hither
ecstasy lingered then
with the bliss of
romance.

Only a shy young maiden was I
how could my heart ever know
that love was steadily seeping
into the innocence of my soul?

Romance
came with glory
love's fable now I pen
we fell in love one September
at a haven of love way down in the glen

Nine-Eleven', Seven Years On

Acrostic:

Terrorism at its worst can strike most anywhere,
Evil and so wicked, and corrupt beyond compare.
Remember that September in the early morning?
Remember the Twin Towers, falling without warning?
Overpowering vibrations zigzagged through the air,
Recurring and constant, was the crying of despair...
In anguishing horror, those innocent people died.
Such sadness and heartache forever will abide.
May God forgive suicidal factions, for they see not
~~~~ the outcome of their ruinous actions ~~~~
Shakespeare And Sylvia
Shakespeare awoke as
the world was sleeping
and wrote a sonnet for
Sylvia, his 'sweeting',
desperately hoping she'd
be his queen, in the beautiful
Isle of evergreen.
Sylvia was a Goddess fair
She captured his mind like
a sacred prayer.
But of her feelings he was
unsure, and could suffer
the doubt no more.
Now Shakespeare was a
sound young man, eager to
know her plan ~ so he posed
the question, asked for her hand:
Would Sylvia always be
The Pathway
If the Pathway leads to Heaven
And your gentle call I hear,
Along that Pathway I must travel
Just to have you ever-near.
Melodious voices will be singing
As I see your smiling eyes,
And words of every haunting song
Will be echoing across the skies.
My soul will be at peace again
If beside you I can stay ~
Our love will be as new tomorrow
As on the day you went away.
So if the Pathway leads to Heaven,
I will travel through the 'blue'
With anxious mind and trembling heart
Until I'm safe in Heaven, with you.
In Blue Hawaii
Tempting fate with you my love
flying high 'neath skies above,
over land and over sea
in blue Hawaii we soon will be.
If we say a fervent prayer
our faith in God should take us there,
to those palm-trees gently swaying
to golden shores where music's playing.
A sunset wedding there could be
a paradise... a fantasy,
just an Hawaiian wedding song
could live in memory all life long.
But, is this all a fairytale,
am I building castles in the air?
I am tempting fate my darling one
in blue Hawaii, in the sun.
Eternity Ring
Poetic Style - Acrostic:
Eagerly he rushes down to the town
The jewellery store is where he is bound
Eternity's a word, very deep in his mind...
Rapturous delight of the lasting kind.
Never before had he felt quite like this.
Immediate action brought thoughts of bliss.
To place an eternity ring on her finger
Young love and true love ever would linger.
Resting on the laurel 'love lasts forever,
In sickness or health, love is a treasure'
Now was the time for angels to sing
Gentle love songs to an Eternity Ring.
O Holy Day
One golden Cross,
One crimson rose
Life's inspiration to me,
As over green pastures I wander
I am one of Your sheep
Praying to Thee.
Down in Your peaceful valley
Not far from the shore and sea
I think of the Resurrection
And my mind strays to Calvary.
From up in Your midnight heaven
Moonbeams shine down thro' the trees
Predicting the onset of Holy Day
When praises ascend to the Trinity.
One golden Cross
One crimson rose
Life's inspiration to me
As over green pastures I wander
Warmth in Winter
Church bells chime in a darker clime
When winter sets her chill upon me,
Storms that blow with ice and snow
Make birds migrate to a fairer state
Temperatures decreasing contantly.
But Christmastime is a radiant time
As winter sets bright lights upon me;
Each cottage aglow with mistletoe
Each hill and dale a fairy-tale
And peaceful hearts surrounding me.
Poetic lines are historic rhymes
When winter sets her calm upon me
Hymns of Bethlehem well we know
The story of Jesus will never fail
To warm the very soul within me.
Autumn Meeting
As I step up to this microphone
it gives me much delight
to say how very honoured am I
to be here with you all tonight,
discussing the rising crime rate
and the present fianancial situation
the high unemployment statistics
and social discrimination...
But first may we join together
and thank the good Lord above
for all the great things in this life
through the power of His love.
And prior to wearing our thinking caps
enjoy the music for our Queen,
drinking red wine to a Concerto divine
for England and her fields of green.
