that ancient door
where the printing machines
produced editions by the score
Hearts were aglow with paperboys calling
they made family life complete
and thanks went to London
to a place called
Fleet Street.

That Lonesome Word

'Poverty'

As far as the eye can see
no other word in our vocabulary
begins with letters p-o-v.
The word stands all alone
calling for our sympathy,
humanity, love and charity.
Let us hope this lonely word
will soon be swept into history.

Wonderful Colours

Down To The White Cliffs

At Mayfair, we met
Mayfair was fun, you bet!
But soon as shopping was over
We left Piccadilly and Leicester Square
Caught a train down to Dover
Enjoying the southern air
And the bluebirds of paradise.
