Sacred Journey

In the renaissance
of Western spirituality.

The linear logic of
frame by frame reality.

Is no longer a suitable roadmap
for a blue print of practicality.

The shining clarity of
thought unfettered by the dream.
Unfolding the universe as never before.
Ever revealing the unforseen.

Breaking the chaos
of matter based existence.
From this heightened state of thought
there can be no resistance.

We emerge in all our splendor

Love By the Sea

I've seen her face, I know her heart
I long for her embrace...
She thinks she is a passing thing,
but that's just not the case.

If she becomes a 'searchable document'
Will she leave me far behind...
The triple period says it all
the future's hard to find.

I'm in a cabin, above the sea
The room is hot and cold.
Waitin' for the woman who left me there
looking for her heart to hold...

I've brought him here
within the trees
A dream we both
shall share.

Ode to Henry

The literary life
Of chaos and strife
Like a marriage with no wife
Can hardly seem right …

Swimming in a sea of words
They dance and they flow
A river of thoughts so wasteful …
Inside my mind so playful
And so completely distasteful …
But yet I know …

Henry Miller
Not the pillar
Of society
We'd all love to be

But his words they
Dance across the page
In obscene chaos

In Memory of the Men at the Yale Hotel

Here's to the men
Who lived at the Yale
These sad sweet souls
Each had their own tale

Of lives lived in youth
In the Great Depression
Memories of hunger
And political repression

So off they all marched
To the second World War
Returning with scars
Too deep to ignore

They turned to the bottle
And drowned in their sorrow
Spending alcoholic nights
With no thought of the morrow

Sacred Stones Of Time And Space

The path my mind traversed this day
Was guided by thy holy light
And midst the sterling starry night
With wings of love in solemn flight
I discovered there before my sight
The stones of time's most sacred way.

I bowed to read the holy script,
but it was written by a foreign hand,
My fingers trace the letters, and
they disappear into the sand...
What riddle this? What cruel brigand
Would Wisdom make a secret kept.

The holy script now in the sands
The message was set free
Our search for truth is in Gods hands
And we shall find the key
Not in space but the realm of time
Else man may never see

What If

What if
Worthiness was inborn
And not earned.

What if
Love was instinct
And not learned.

What if
Beauty was eternal
And not external.

What if
Compassion was strength
And not seen as meekness.

What if
Humility was power
And not seen as weakness.

Two Rivers

Thirty years in Kansas
As a home grown country boy
Riding life's ups and downs
I almost lost my joy.

Thirty years in Israel
I've finally seen it clear
These journeys not required
The answers were right Here.

The blood that flows within my veins
It flows from East to West
And who will say with good intent
Which river I love best.

Am I an ancient warrior?
Or a Holy Man of God?
I travel this strange journey
In search of my own song.

Season's of the Soul

Quiet is the autumn sun
Purified in God's own light
This day star of divinity
As it fades into the peaceful night

Valerian dreams they hang in the sky
Like timber wolves tracks in the snow
Winter looms near after autumns last song
And the geese fly south, as they know

Now is the time when the bud doth decline
And the leaves they do carpet the ground
No sooner than this with the suns perfect kiss
Soon spring will be right back around.

As this tide of life is turning
God's sweet grace is soon imparted
Natures message to awaken
But only for the open hearted

Krishna's Lure

Sweetest song of Krishna
I hear your magic flute
With song and joy
You do lure
With lightest mirth
and heart so pure.

The slightest smile
upon your lips
it doth bespeak of bliss.
And in your splendid image
is the blessing of God's kiss.

Your joy you spread like
perfumed breeze,
to sweeten life for all.
For like the blessing
of the trees,
we see in our divinity,
An answer to

Couples In The Rain

Sorry, folks, there's been a hoax,
That's right ma'am, it's all a scam,
You see, there's been this huge mistake,
Your marriage license is a fake...
A promise rendered, a fealty pledged
it's not as legal as alleged.
The Mayor has over-stepped his bounds,
so please, no tux and wedding gowns..
the courts have gotten paranoid
and declared your vows are null and void.
Cancel the enlightened interlude.
Back in the closet...sorry, dude!
We hope this hasn't wrecked your life,
and that of your husband, or your wife,
but you threaten traditions we all hold dear,
you've sparked a tidal wave of fear.
There will be no sympathy for you here.
Besides, you're queer,
in an election year
