A Day to Fly
If God gave me
A day to fly,
I'd spread my wings
With great glee,
And soar around the world
Would I.
I'd fly to China, Spain, Brazil.
And on to Africa,
Flying still.
From Puerterico,
To El Salvador.
'Tis good to be free
From the earthen floor.
From the Rocky Mountains,
To the river, Zaire.

Thankfulness Is A Virtue
Thankfulness is a virtue,
That we shouldn't live without.
It fills us with immense happiness,
That is apparent from the inside, out.
When you recognize a blessing,
Thankfulness is the key,
To let someone know
That it meant something special,
To thee.
Thankfulness is a characteristic,
That no one should lack,
When someone gives,
Or does something
For someone else,
The thing to do,

Autumn Blitz
I stared in silent wonder,
As autumn rolled in like thunder-
And in a lightening's flash,
Started my world on fire!
The trees burned brightly in,
Sunset and smokey grey hues-
The leaves lept down from the trees,
And quickly spread the news!
The wind whistled through the woods,
And swept the ground-
And wailed!
It tickled the grass,
And seized the leaves-
And up!
And away, they sailed!

Saddest Sight I Ever Done Seen - (#I.)
T'was the saddest sight I ever done seen,
Bridles here-
'An saddles there.
Why, there was even blankets and halters,
Made o' some of the nicest leather I'd ever come acrost.
All of it was just a sittin' there,
Like a bump on a log.
T'was a beautiful sight,
For a country girl.
T'was sad to know it had been a waitin' there,
Patient as a dog,
For quite some time now.
Why, it was covered in so much dust,
It looked as if it were done made o' velvet,
'Stead o' leather.

Poems in the Tackroom
Poems in the tackroom
Getting dusty
And old.
Books, tales, stories,
And legends.
Some have never been told.
Legends of warriors long ago,
Tales of pirates bold.
Stories of love and mystery.
Maps and books of history,
And poems of the arctic cold.
Pamphlets, scrolls, papers,
And things
Nestled on the saddle.

Riding Lessons
God gives me riding lessons
When I go to sleep each night.
Just can't get the hang of it,
Try as I might.
In my dreams,
The horse has either
bucked me off,
Or I ride gracefully,
And never stop.
It is always in a corral,
or by the sea that I ride.
I see the waves,
And the gulls.
I can smell the saltiness.

What Is A Barn?
A barn is many things-
A barn is a fun place
To run, romp, and play.
It is also a place of refuge,
On hot or stormy days.
A barn is a storage place
For all your tools, grain, and hay.
It is also a place to unwind,
When you have had a tough day.
A barn becomes God's sanctuary,
When you begin to pray
It is also a place of work,
When work is needing done.
A barn is a place
Where freindships can be made
It is also a place

America's Foundation
Jesus Christ is our foundation
The solid Rock
Which shakes our nation!
He lived,
He shared the Good News
He took our depts,
And paid sin's dues.
Jesus died,
With his arms open wide -
Not a sinner is denied!
The loving forgivness -
It is freely given.
And on the third day,

Dollar Debate
It is a common saying,
That happiness is one thing
Which money cannot buy.
Although this be widespread knowlege,
This philosophy,
I must deny.
Why?
Because money does
Buy happiness,
For a fleeting while.
What is achieved is
A momentary excitement
And gleefulness -
Perhaps even a fading smile.
