A Dialogue that opened my Eyes
If overcome with grief
I have come to believe,
Empathy and compassion
Are outdated, a bitter lesson
Oh sleep, dear sleep, I plea,
Please don’t abandon me,
In your soothing arms
My pain finds the balm.
'Yes, people are emotionally crippled,
Cause of all crimes and ills...
No wonder you need sleeping pills…
I’ll settle on your weary eyelids,
If you hand over your worries
Before you are about to retire,
And surrender to Him, you will see
I was waiting by your bedside.'

Bulls and Bears
Markets crashed
Hopes dashed
Brokers lashed
Doctors cashed
traders bashed
Overnight bankrupt
Shutters shut
Investors harassed
Analysts embarrassed
Govt. appeals
Don’t desperate feel
Markets volatile
Remain agile
Strong fundamentals
Good long term potential
Global concerns
Markets govern
Recession- sub prime crisis
Inflation-sky high prices
Bears overpower

Memories
My childhood flashes across my mind,
How everyone at home was so kind.
Whenever I would fall sick
And vacantly stare at the window sill.
My father would quietly sit on my bed,
And put his warm hand on my forehead,
And softly ask me how I was
And kindly reassure me this too shall pass.
But now he is no more.
He is never going to walk through that door.
That’s life, we have to go on,
And let go and not forever mourn.
Oh yes they will forever live in my heart
As if never ever had to part.

Are you Breathless...
Distance makes the faces blurred,
Familiar voices are less often heard…
Don’t just wait and sit alone by phone,
And wait for that call and ring tone.
Have you ever held your breath,
And felt as if you will suffocate?
Oh, what a relief it is to exhale
And then allow yourself to inhale.
I learnt a long time ago,
Everyone wants to be let go…
Love would never clip the wings,
Every heart has a right to sing…
So do I, even if I sing to myself
Don’t we all long to tune to ourselves?

Beware, I am on my Way
Morning rays
Light up the brilliance
of diamond jewels,
As it moves, draped
in diaphnous robes.
Curvaceous, heaving
Its bosom like a siren,
A wanton woman,
Trying to ensnare
A gullible victim,
Paying standing ovation,
With longing in his limpid eyes,
Watching from the sidelines.
Comely, willowy
Gracefully undulating,
Today rain or shine

A Gift you give Yourself....
Forgiving,
Becomes easy,
Once we realise
Its a waste of energy...
The realisation
Of our own imperfection,
Leads to transformation
Of mental formations...
Heals our fragile ego
And we let go.
To empower,
Water flowers.
With this insight
Inflamed passions take flight...

Answer me, please Lord...! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Do You like a potter,
Sit down with clay
And give things shape…
Do You like a painter,
Mix colours in a pallette to paint
Such beautiful landscapes…
Do You like an engineer,
Make blue prints and calculations,
Before carrying out Your vision…
Do you like an architect,
Make drawings and rough sketches,
Before staring a project…
Are these childish questions?
Am overcome with wonder,
As I look at Your creation…

Sportsmanship
When the battle lines are drawn
And you have valiantly stood your ground
But once it finally dawns
That you have lost, then get off your high horse
Step back with grace and accept defeat
It may be taken as a sign of weakness
But you know, it requires strength to gracefully retreat
And to congratulate your adversary and shake hands
You are enveloped with a sense of peace
In life, love, sports or war, you win some
And lose some, that’s the way it is
If everyone tries to have the last word, there will be anarchy.

Faith
When you want something bad,
And it can’t be had
You feel sad
And at times mad.
At times there is no choice,
And to maintain your poise
You have to say yes to what is
And restore your mental peace.
You have to go down deep
And then take a giant leap,
To be aware of what is
There are times when you have to give life a miss.
Once the negativity is released,
You reclaim your natural ease.
Now is the only moment you can live
You finally come to believe.

O, Conscience...! ! ! !
Overcome with remorse and guilt,
O, Conscience… stress has built...
I can’t sleep and just ruminate,
What if, I had shown some restraint?
“My dear, no point in regrets,
Don’t ask what if… it’s too late.
Fact that you have come to realise
Is atonement… for now…suffice
You have reached a turning point,
Keep this crucial appointment…
Dear, wise learn, from their mistakes,
Forgive your transgression and make
A conscious effort to not be complacent
Go about life mindfully to be resilient…”
