Pain
Even my shadow
Leaves me alone
At night,
When I switch off
The lights.
But not pain,
It is my constant
Companion.
I wish
I could
Take it off,
Like a shoe
That bites.

Inner Eye
Each moment,
Each sight that attracts
And arrests,
Can’t be captured
Through lens’s eye.
So I lock them
In my memory,
To recall
When I am free…
or ovecome with
worry.

On Finding Someone long lost
Growing old—I grew up,
Stopped hugging grief.
Rediscovered,
The child in me.
Happy just to be.
I wonder
How did I lose touch with it?
Careful
Like a mother,
Now I nurture.

A Basket of Lemons- Senryo! ! ! ! !
Basket of lemons
At my door... ironical,
Who knew had sore throat...
No visitng card
pondered, was attached...
As I quitely sat,
making lemonade
with a dash of honey
to soften sourness...

Silent Exchange
Silent exchange
of nectar
Takes place,
Among butterflies and flowers,
Without any fanfare.
Joy of giving
And the art
Of receiving,
Without blowing
Any trumpets.
You can learn
Only from Nature

Insomnia! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Destroyed the physical
Evidence of our love;
What to do with
Ones etched in memory?
Like an insomniac
Who lies wide awake
In bed,
I too dread the
Night…
Wish could delete
At the click of a key.

Let Go
As a ripened fruit
Is naturally let go
By the tree.
So should we,
Let go
Of our children,
When they are ready
To leave
And pursue their dreams.
Choose their path
And let destiny
Unfold its mysteries.

A Room with a View! ! ! !
A bird perched on the tree top surveys urban scene.
Wind sneaks in through crevices in winter unseen.
Autumn leaf aboard the breeze without a sound falls.
sights and quiet help me unwind on instant recall.

City on Fire! ! ! ! !
City on fire,
As red flames leap from
Gulmohar tree in May.
No cause for dismay,
It lifts the mood
And fills with cheer,
The clusters
Of red blossoms,
I smile, as
I drive past,
No fire brigade
Required.
