Beautiful Red Rock Canyon
There is nothing more beautiful
Than a canyon that is red
Glistening in the sunshine
Oh, so much that can be said
Green trees and shrubbery along
The red road as we drive
It just plain doesn’t matter
Where we go or when we arrive
I find it a pleasure and an honor
To spend time such as this
It warms my heart so much
Like a soft sweet lover’s kiss
The flowers I see are like frosting
To decorate the top of a cake
Delightful and fragrant they are
And perhaps a sky blue lake

The Magnificent Buffalo
Ah, the Buffalo, a magnificent beast
Especially the American breed
Their head so huge and strong
As they graze on natural feed
So many ways they are depicted
So many colors as well
But I just love to travel
Where the live Buffalo dwell
They go back many years
Traveling across the plains
At one time they began to dwindle
Not many of them remained
But they’ve made a comeback
And aren’t we glad they have?
For we are proud of this animal

Autumn’s Glow
There is something about autumn
That brings out such earthiness
Gold leaves adorn bushes and trees
Like an artist with a brilliant brush
Once the leaves dry on the trees
Then the wind begins to blow
It’s a special time of year for me
Because I love autumn so
The cold dry air it seems
Prepare the leaves to fall
Mother Nature’s special time

These ladies are always ready
For a cheerful kind of sound
For it’s all about planning
To pass the humor around
To put aside the stress in life
And look on a brighter side
To find something to smile about

Country Sunset
There is nothing more beautiful
Than a country sunset
The colors in the open sky
Are as lovely as they can get
Across the fields of grasses
You see the silhouette
Of a fence post or a windmill
As the sun that night has set
Even the barbwire linked across
The fence posts add a charm
For after all it is country
As pure as an old-fashioned barn
Orange, red, yellow and purple

Horse Buddy
here is something very stately
About the average horse
There is beauty in their structure
And they are very large, of course
Their eyes are warm and soft
They seem to understand
They would purr if they were cats
As I rub them with my hand
They love to nuzzle and touch
You gently with their nose
It’s always very wet
Because they lick it, I suppose
They are people animals for sure
They don’t want to be alone
They need the barnyard close

A Fire-sky
The sunset was like a fire-sky
That truly lit up my world
Clouds were orange and yellow
Like a paintbrush making swirls
The beauty was overwhelming
But a little bit frightening as well
It raged as though with fury
As it all began to swell
The colors were also reflected
In the lake where trees surround
It was quiet as I stood mesmerized

From the emerald rolling hills
Dotted with meandering sheep
To the treasured Sweetheart Abey
I can see it all in my sleep
The scenery is unlike any other

It makes a dream vacation too

You wouldn’t believe how beautiful
The Christmas lights shown
Ah yes, the Wilds at Christmas
As charming as I’ve ever known
The lights in total darkness
You can see for miles and miles
While driving through the country

Easter at Spanish Cove
As always when a holiday is here
Food miraculously arrives
For Spanish Cove they have
Cooks where perfection thrives
Fresh, delicious and tasty
Tables set up with such style
Folks lined up to fill their plates
Food that satisfies for awhile
Lovely flowers graced the tables
And put everyone in the mood
For Easter dinner is special
Nowhere can you find better food
The color and freshness of fruit
Adorned the enormous salad bar
