Old Cemeteries
I love to go to old cemeteries
I’ve seen them all ‘cross country
Some are deep in the forest
They are so beautiful to me
Others are in vast prairie land
Small stones where children lay
I could almost hear voices
While they ran around in play
I’ve seen them in New Orleans
Folks are buried above the ground
It’s like a flash of history
With old cemeteries I have found
Of course there are the military
Like Vicksburg in Mississippi
Oh yes, I find cemeteries truly are
Part of American history!

Time to be a Cowboy!
The excitement was rapidly building
Comfortable chairs were in place
They all were getting ready
Drinks were brought in by the case
It was all about wearing orange
The ‘Cowboys’ color, you see
Everyone was set to watch the parade
Oh, such fun for you and me
Of course there are munchies as well
Can’t celebrate without the food
Smiles upon all the faces
Everyone was in a happy mood
Yes, it’s that time once again, folks
So get ready to enjoy
Football in all its glory
It is time to be a Cowboy!

Museum of Women Pilots
They were ladies with a task at hand
In an area unknown to most
Usually when it comes to flying
The women would only host
But this museum is dedicated to
The women who learned to fly
If you knew of their determination
You never would ask why
We all know about Amelia Earhart
But she was only one of many
Who knew in the core of their hearts
They had to make flying their journey
We honor them every single one
In a place where they have special slots
In history forever and ever
The museum of women pilots!

Standing Bear Café
It was a fascinating little restaurant
Called Standing Bear Café
The décor was fun to look at
I would recommend it any day
Lots of choices on the menu
They even serve frog legs
Or perhaps you are hungry, sir
For hashbrowns, ham and eggs
And if you go in often, my friend
They’ll give you a special chair
Why, they’ll put your name right on it
It’ll be your spot while you’re there
Out in front is a huge bear statue
That will beckon you to stay
So stop in soon and visit
The Standing Bear Café!

Nature Is My Guide
I look up at the hills
One of nature’s best
The leaves are turning now
Like an Eagle leaves its nest
The flaming red above me
A majestic color chart
For nature is from God
Right from His soul and heart
I watch as an oil rig
Sucks liquid from the earth
Another part of nature
Another kind of birth
I see the precious church
In which I love to pray
I cling to what I believe in
It brings me happiness today

Red Dirt Christmas
Oh how I love that red dirt road
And during this time of year
It fits right into the holiday
The Red brings Christmas cheer
The green of the tractor also
Set’s the holiday tone
Gotta get those animals out there fed
It’s not just about Christmas alone
We’re going to have a celebration
With food so delicious and great
Heading down that red dirt road
We certainly don’t want to be late
Presents bright and glittering
Beneath the Christmas tree
Ah yes, A red dirt Christmas
The most wonderful time for me!

Chocolate and Spring Flowers
Of course it isn't a secret
That chocolate is the way
To send so many messages
You can change somebody's day
Can you just possibly imagine how
It would be to have a full table
Of every form of chocolate there is
Sample them all if you are able
At the same time spring flowers
In vases, yards and city parks
Brilliant and fragrant as well
What a way for springtime to start
I hope that you too are enjoying
Chocolate if you love it like me
Spring time flowers wherever you go
Exactly where you want them to be!

Chocolate Pleasure
I love the pleasure of chocolate
As it melts upon my tongue
It dribbles all through my mouth
And squishes around my gums
I close my eyes for a moment
As my senses are quite aware
Of the delicious wondrous flavor
Of chocolate lingering there
There are so many chocolate flavors
The dark and the medium too
White chocolate is truly scrumptious
Just perfect, my friend, for you
So whenever you need something sweet
You must try this simple treasure
Just pop a morsel into your mouth
And enjoy some chocolate pleasure!

Pumpkin Parade
The pungent smell of autumn
With the air so crisp and cool
Golden leaves tumble to the ground
A time for nature’s renewal
The pumpkins are harvested
When autumn time appears
They are ripe and ready
For the parade we all revere
Horses are hooked up
To wagons and carts
Folks all pile in
And we’re ready to start
Aren’t they just beautiful?
The pumpkins I mean
Every size shade and style
It’s a sweet autumn dream

Capitol Art
Snuggled in the Nation’s Capital
You’ll never believe what we saw
An art gallery so wonderful
It was truly an exceptional draw
Cowboy art sure takes you back
To the old western days
Cowboys with rope in hand
Gathering up all the strays
An early part of American history
And the perfect place in which to find
In our Capital in Washington DC
We must not leave history behind
If you ever get a chance, my friend
To tour this extraordinary place
Take advantage of this art gallery
For history we should never waste!
