Love in so many ways

I have loved in so many ways
As seas cross my sandbar into a bay

For every Kiss I gave away
It was time to be taken away

Every 'I love you' was earnest, true
Every 'goodbye' was always due

All the times, loneliness, blue
Always turn, be gone, the issue

Making change, too many times
Making change, a line of rhyme

Striking bells, hear the chimes
Striking time, doing crime

Who then do I love the most
Who when, haunts me like a ghost

Life

Pastel? don't even know what that means
Pastel? Hell! rhymes any way

My color of life?
Don't even know where I'm from,
Let alone anything else.

Don't know where I'm from
Don't know where I'm at
Don't know where I'm going

Yes I do...I'm going back to small
My favorite place, small pebbles, smooth and shiny
Small lakes and sacred woods
And tiny dreams that come true in sunsets
And porch swings on warm summer nights

And he who would continue to labor this life forever
Would be forever poorer
For all loss is only gain

He brushed his teeth,

then he combed his hair,

Silence

Silence: never talks back
making you feel small;
Just stares back at you,
understands all

Silence and a cup of tea
early before there's a dawn
Shreiks and screams
but there's not a sound

Just keeps on falling down
tripping over yesterday's promises
Humming unfinished songs he
can't remember the words to

Remember when you wanted to?
now you never do
And after all the nows and thens

I came to that bridge
that so many had crossed
before...

I started pulling up the planks

to be going on before

Bullet From A Gun

I lived my life
Like a bullet from a gun
racing down a barrel
from an explosive past
Always smoke and fire and blast
Then I moved on

In my haste racing away
I'm concerned not who
I graze
All my days I came
crashing into, littered souls
What carnage, too

awesome, strong
Hell-bent on ways

Rain and Love

There is a chill
in the summer's air tonight
Ice in a voice
telling me, 'all is alright.'
'I abandoned love
a decade ago
Without love
there's nowhere to go.'
And as the clouds gather
the rain never comes
Without the rain
life never comes
So much traffic
on a dark one way street
So many thoughts
my past left incomplete
A very limp handshake
veiled snide remarks
Through all of the smoke

Wrap the shawl of twilight
Around your shoulders tonight

Come out and play
Hide and seek
In the cementery

Stand still as a stone

For only in silence
Can one come to understanding
For in the fewest words

And Wisdom is everywhere
Just breath it in

Cell of your body

Love is elusive
Fleeting, seldom enduring;
Buttercup butterflies
