When We Were Young

as i talk to you,
i start to wonder,
have you always been sensitive,
or have you always hide it,

i remember when we were young,
i looked up to you as my prince,
you protected me and cared for me,
it was young love,

you picked on me,
i picked on you,
always saying 'eww'
when somebody would say
'if you like her so much,
why don't you kiss her? '

but when times got hard,

Battle Of Life

i no longer hide how i feel,
what you see is what you get,
i'm tired of hiding what need to be free,
cuz how is anybody going to know,
the real me, if i hide it under all of my emotions,
it can't be free, it time to let it out,
i'm don't want to hide,
what i want people to understand,
cuz underneath this hard shell,
there's a person who trying to break free,
there's a person ready for change,
she tired of following in somebody else path,
for once she wants to be who she is,
and fight the battles that come her way,
she tired of making excuses every step of the way,
of what she can't do,
but, if that what she let get in her way,
she will only be holding herself back,
from being all that she can be,
can't you see?

Understanding me

i never really understood,
why my childhood was blank,
why i just couldn't remember it,
who would want to remember it?
pain, covered with more pain,
yeah there was love and hugs,
but everything get clouded,
nothing makes sense,
no matter how much love,
i was shown as a child,
it still don't take,
all of the bad memories,
filled with hate, shame, and anger,
i do things that are not me,
at first i couldn't tell you why,
but as it all start to make sense to me,
it's all pointing to the two events in my life,
it what changed me to see man,
as just sick animals,
it changed me to think,

Step Up! ! ! !

can't believe you tell me it not up to you,
don't you know i wouldn't be in this mess,
if only it wasn't for you,
i have try and not place blame,
for the things i can no longer change,
but, help me along the way,
this is your fight as well as mine,
step up!
i had to even though i never wanted to,
there comes a day in our lives,
where we have to grow up and accept life challenges,
when are you going to face yours?

just to keep moving forward,

You were the person I think of,
When I wanted to give up.
You were the person I think of,
When my life was getting rough.
Though you were always there,
When I needed somebody to care.
Never giving up,
When days were tough.
You always spoke from the heart,
Just to say how you felt.
Made me realize I could do more,
To change my ways in living.
You gave me the stenght to be,
The person I am,

Nice Guys Don't Deserve To Be Put To The Test

do i really judge a guy,
before i give him a chance,
is that why it so hard,
for a guy to stick around,
i push him away,
before he has the chance to,
change my opinion about him,
yeah i admit,
i don't love easy,
i was hurt before,
i even started to date,
most guys can't understand,
they can't understand my pain,
my struggles of even letting them,
get close to me,
in my mind,
all guys want is sex,
there are very few guys,
who will hold back enough,

Who would want me

i feel like i'm scaring you away,
i don't want to but,
i feel like i have so many unresovled issues,
that it is only a matter of time,
until you can't handle it,
and you turn away,
i'm afraid of that day,
you just had enough,
and just walk away,
i don't get,
guys that want a girl who feels,
like she is messed up,
and can't change it at times,
i hate being this girl,
who can't seem to get her life right,

Do You?

When life gets hard?
Do you give up?
When people doubt you?
Do you prove them wrong?
When people say things?
Do you let it get to you?
When you don't want to be here?
Do you pretend you somewhere else?
When nobody seem to care?
Do you just wonder why?
When life doesn’t go your way?
Do you try to fix it?
When you don’t know what to do?
Do you do the only thing you know?
When you seem to give up on life?
Do you remember the good things that come out of it?

Life is not always perfect

life can be ****ed up,
but what can we do?
whine and cry
because the things we want
you can't have?
or just change the way
you see life?
life can be unfair,
why let it bring you down?
you can't change what happens,
or what's going to happen,
you control your life,
nobody else
so to place blame on somebody,
only shows,
that you have no courage
to take responsibity,
for the way your life was going
fight through when times get hard,
why cry when nothing will change?

Accepting the truth

it been two years since i lost you,
and the years are going up,
it gets easier to think of you,
but having you here will be nice too,
i know you in a good place,
i just wanted you to be happy,
God took you quickly,
you no longer have pain,
i can no longer hold onto you,

and i no longer regret that,
i know you still by my side,
giving me hope and feeling,
that everything will be alright,
you don't have to be here in person,
for me to be alright,
because you taught me everything i needed,
to be the person you wanted me to be,
