Communication

Friend of mine,
This form of communication...
May not be best.
As,
You are there with your styrofoam cup
And,
Here I am with mine..
There's so much string in between
And, sometimes..
Signals get crossed,
Messages blurred.
Though,
I must say..
This is better than the smoke signals
You've sent earlier
My way.
And, my use of ESP
Did neither of us any good..
You didn't get my messages.
And,

The Message

I hear you
As a whisper on the wind
See you
In the setting of the sun
Perched
On a burning red horizon
Smiling at me as if to let me know
The secrets of life
Are encapsulated in a grain of sand
Lying somewhere on some lowly beach.

I hear you
In the rustling of leaves
See you
In the huts where smoke stacks rise to warm their
Occupants against the cold December night sky
I inhale you
And know you are always with me
I see the twinkle in your eyes
Reflected in the starts glistening in the night sky

Caramel

It's under his electric gaze
She
Begins to melt
Like Sugar
In a burning hot pan
Turning into caramel
It's the way his eyes linger
Over
Every
Little
Inch
Of her
That hunger
That makes her blood sing
Sizzle
Heats her from within
Lava in her veins
Dancing in delight
Making the warm summer breeze
Gently

Sometimes I Miss You

I want to sleep
That deep tranquil sleep
Where I dream
And in my dreams
I see you again
See you the way you were before we broke
See you in all the ways that made me love you
I turn in my bed
My eyes flutter open
I see you
On the side of the bed where you always slept
Reach out in my semi-conscious state
And feel nothing
I think I groan in sadness
And the let the waves of unconsciousness take me under
Where I dream
And remember all the ways you loved me
All the little things that meant so much
See you the way I use to when I loved you
See you the way you were before you hurt me

Why I Love To Travel

Walking the cobbled stone streets
Of some ancient city at dusk
Looking at worn out old buildings
Marveling at their grace and beauty
And musing over what they must have witnessed

Touching plaster
As it crumbles under my hand
I look at various intricately carved doorways
And
Wonder
Who entered
Who left

I feel the sun
Dip
Down
Low
And bathe everything in her saffron glow
As the ghosts of old worlds

Missing You

I miss lying next to you.
Feeling your breath on my neck,
My face.
Miss reaching for someone
Who knew me
Every hill and valley
Every crevice.
The good and bad of me.
The real of me.
You were the end of me.
I miss the simple things
That were so easy between us.
One look that made me laugh
One look that made me sad
That look you gave
That let me know.
That secret language no one else spoke.
I miss exchanging my breath
With someone who could make me stop breathing
Just by walking into the room

Whispers

My bones speak to me
In the middle of the night
When the whisper of nothingness surrounds me.
They say,
'All is an illusion.'
We
Who have formed from particles born a millinea before you
Know.
We
Who have been part of the universe
Have carried this knowledge with us and it speaks to you
It does not matter if you worship idols or
A god you can not see
God
Is a man made creation
Whether formed from clay
Or
Of the imagination.
He is a machine made to serve man's purpose
Where woman is trampled underfoot

Contemplation

When pen touches paper
Feelings being to surface
Surge forth, though thought to be
Long forgotten and burried
I do my best to stay in constant motion.
The second I stop to take a breath
Inhale till I feel my lungs will explode
I focus
And,
What do I see before me?
The fortress that I've built and isolated myself in
The moat that can not be crossed
The facade is grand, strong and stout.
No one realizes that it's just an illusion.
I hate loosing my composure.
I'm always in control, not a hair out of place
So it would seem..
I've suffered some injustice
Years and years ago
Promised myself never to repeat a mistake

Unanswered Questions

Why?
She whispered to him as he walked away.
Why?
She heard it like a breeze of wind
That carries away
Unfurls itself in the softest of ways.
Why?
As her eyes fill and empty themselves of
This delicate deluge that goes nowhere
Brings nothing.
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
She hears silence.
The footsteps ceased their echoing in the corridor long before this day,
Yet,
She stands there,
Transfixed,

The First Time

My senses are heightened
As adrenaline pounds through me
Using my veins
In a personal
Pulsating
Selfish way.
That makes it seem my heart will
Break out of my chest
And,
Dance before my eyes.
Every hair on my body has risen
Expectantly, waiting for you.
I lean towards you
Like soft green grass
Dancing in the breeze.
Breathe
Eyes dilated
Pupils fixated into tiny points.
Searching
Looking
