The Night Song

I look up to see the deep cimmerian shade
To ponder for the hidden, if God hadn't forbade
The stars flicker as reality wanes in the dark;
The song cometh forth within the depths of its ark

My heart sinks to wallow in the song's demise
For the sun's waking hour, with light to rise
I grow weary to wait again to see you soon
For my secret mentor is the metaphysical moon
