Error Upon Error
Columbus is blamed for it all
Thinking that India is where he landed
The people, Indians he did call
Error to another added
As still it has been so
Since centuries ago.
What if to Mars I would then sail
To look for life, or for other simians
But Venus landing did prevail
And creatures there I called 'Martians'
Would it remain as so
Even after we know?

A Beach Wish
I once wished to be a mountain
Rivers flowing by my side
My feet resting where waters drain
Seawards, and there to meet the tide
Then, wished I to be that river
Meandering on course diverse
Heading to sea till forever
To find a better fate or worse
So, I decide to be that sea
Breaking shores of tropic isle
Might love would wade the beach by me
And feel she walks along the aisle.

She Walks In Meadows
She walks the stretch of meadow land
To pick the blooms so fair and wild
Arrayed in basket by her hand
A touch so gentle and so mild
Inside her basket lies my heart
Snared in her eyes, bound in her smile
Devoid of all will to depart
But stay for many more a mile
And there to be merry as lark
To sing in never-ending rhymes
From early morning until dark
Blithesome and carefree at all times.

Miss World 2012
Ni Hao, come into my kitchen
Boiling in the kettle is soup
This broth is about to thicken
Made from the chicken of my coop
Miss India, be seated on first
Mexican lass second chair please
But could this order be reversed
Miss china comes first like a breeze
You are all my guest, so behave
What you get is what you deserve
Once you hold the ladle, do save
The best, for your own choice to serve.

Spring
I remember Spring
The flora and the smell
Scents the breeze would bring
And fun stories to tell
The tunes songbirds sing
Of brawls and cowhand's yell
Pain as bee would sting
Prayers called by the bell
But crops have ripened
And ladies looked so well
Newer doors opened
Spring must have cast a spell
When I recall Spring
On things my mind would dwell
Songs my heart would sing
And joys it cannot tell

My Angel
You have no wings, but Oh, your eyes
So brown, and such beauty to see
Enough of your lovely disguise
I know, an angel you must be
Such flowing hair so black as night
Whose sky is sprinkled dusty white
By stars glowing to our delight
To give us dreams so very blithe
What fun to have your company
To see your smile, or hold your hand
As all the cares are whiled away
As though at Heaven's gate I stand.

Pebbles
The pebble I once tossed
Made ripples in the pool
Like gross word heard by all
Which made some quite so crossed
Tells me I'm such a fool
The pebbles in the sand
That I threw there to lie
Like half-truths that slipped by
Due to my sleight of hand
Might haunt me till I die
The pebbles in the grass
I scattered on the lawn
Like faults I left to spawn
Are now back doubly crass
And much flak it has drawn.

The Card
I once tried writing you a card
In letters of the purest gold
But that old goldsmith found it hard
Not to smelt the words in his mold
To a ring of gold it transformed
But too large, for so much were said
As I was soon to be informed
It fits well for your biggest maid
So then, a small ring it became
You behaved with a little spite
But you knew who really to blame
And begrudge how little I write.

Fall Recalled
Warm air has driven out the cold
The sun blazes in skies azure
When leaves are green instead of gold
And rains would pour with less ardor
Ah, that is Spring indeed, but Fall
I have in mind to write about
When colder winds begin to call
And Winter's coming they would shout
That was on a bleak November
While skies were low and night was nigh
As we kissed, as I remember
That she whispered, sadly, 'Goodbye'

Lament of the Unenlightened
Oh twinkling fiery star so bright
You've lent your spirit to the night
From the grandeur of your presence
Time and space acquired its essence
But man, you have been so trifling
Since your birth you have been dying
Normally, three score is your fling
Always a dusty underling.
What great designs you fill?
Which happenstance is very nil?
And when your scene is fully played
Beneath these stars you will be laid.
