Love Sonnet 41 If dreams are strung from end to end like string,
If dreams are strung from end to end like string,
My dreams of you could wrap around the world,
And all the ways your name, my mind did bring,
Are way much more than how my thoughts unfurled;
Though mornings wait until my nights are done,
Where everything happens without intent,
Like water flowing free, of duress none,
While in pursuit of joys to hearts content;
But Dreamland holds no graves for yesterday,
Where relics may be dug to vouch the past,
No bones, no dust which must all fade away,
Just dreams that not after the waking last;
.....With none to show for love that has transpired,
.....How else to show the love you have inspired.

Despair
When hope absconds, with will of one's own heart,
And sleep becomes a stranger to the eyes,
Discouragement precludes any new start,
At love that, sometimes, lacking reason, dies;
As misty air dampens each passing day,
The bubbling spring water, can taste like brine,
No more rainbows showing on skies so grey,
As gourmands fail to lure this soul to dine;
But how could love, or lack thereof, undo
What mind perceives, and what the senses feel,
Are books we've read in our dear schools untrue,
And our psyche, just make-ups we can peel?
........What's this thing, despair, that exerts its hold,
........On hearts and minds, to always act as told?

Adversity
When world becomes your very own dungeon,
Not sleep or dreams, your jailer gives but woes,
Your praisers, scarce, but critics count legion,
A drizzle of friends, but downpour of foes;
Wild weeds, in fields, flourish, while wheat withers,
Your well is scraped, not for water but dregs,
The wicked need be checked, no one bothers,
To tie Heaven's guy wires, no one has pegs;
The door has closed, but no window opened,
Luck came, but may have passed the other way,
Of things you ask, how could God not harkened,
Could angels have sung louder as you pray?
……And worst, you were raised to immortal stage,
…..But you forgot to ask of not to age.

Destiny?
What rules the lives of men: beggars and kings,
And those between, that unseats or installs,
That crowns or exiles, that sweetens or stings,
While Fate has claimed the risings and the falls?
Had outcomes been rigged for hearts and for wars,
Lots having been cast in high Olympus?
Or that lovers' trysts also linked with stars,
All to end as planned, despite the rumpus?
It has been such folly, to cross the gods,
And quite pagan for those who court their will,
Somewhere in between, man's destiny plods,
And thus, would Providence also fulfill:
......Fate esteems men as no higher than elves,
......Once they would fail to rise above themselves.

Love Sonnet 161 The Pulse Of Time That Quickens In Our Veins
The pulse of Time that quickens in our veins,
Bespeaks of nearness, our lips now attained,
More so, it augurs love's desire that reigns,
An apt prelude to kiss forthwith obtained;
As eyes would close, to perceive things the most,
When mind empties, to fully grasp all truths,
Your touch lingered, as all others I've lost,
To hold, for pain of emptiness it soothes;
In rapturous moments, our dreams collate,
And vow in faith, that's sealed to last till death,
But why, that flesh would really so dictate,
That soon, bouquet of love becomes a wreath;
………Pity the love, or else, the lovers be,
………Alas, this so includes poor you and me.

Love Sonnet 163 My Love, Bless This Quest I'm About To Start,
My love, bless this quest I'm about to start,
I'll sail the seas and leave lonely this wharf,
And like in days, when errand knights depart,
Please throw to me your lovely kiss-marked scarf;
I'll look in waves for semblance of your hair,
As it flutters, like banners in a gale,
Your touch, I'll feel bestowed by skies so fair,
Your smile I'll sense in moonlight that's so pale;
But all will just be phantoms of a dream,
That forfeit life! Think, I'll be homeward bound,
And as this quest is slowly losing steam,
'Helmsman, it's time you turn this ship around.'
.....Whilst as vainglorious, I sail destiny,
.....My heart has risen up in mutiny.

Love Sonnet 166 When Joy Has Fled The Confines Of Your Heart
When joy has fled the confines of your heart,
And to sadness is where you sally forth,
Had you been queen, still nary could you thwart,
Events where even clowns can't be of worth;
Some solace you might find in truth and faith;
That enlivens the soul, but not your mirth,
When love has turned to nothing but a wraith,
Of what it was, before being in dearth;
For, all the clowns and jesters in your court,
Won't brighten up the days of one who grieves,
Only by coming back, your self transport,
To where is home, as what your heart believes,
.......Will, once again, true happiness abide,
.......In lonely dreams that once you've cast aside.

Love Sonnet 01: First love I would remember now and hence,
First love I would remember now and hence,
Like rain that came ahead of April's norms,
It wets us through, though deemed of no offence,
And laced our days throughout the August storms;
First things have always claimed in mind a room,
As how strangely, we would greatly uphold,
What first enters or goes out of the womb:
The virgin's loss, or firstborns' heirloom gold;
The foremost pain was that eggshell to break,
For love that lies unsaid in many ways,
If by queer chance, might I, those days remake,
No more will I hold back on love's forays;
....Now I have known, to mourn not love when lost,
....If but it's known to one who mattered most.

Love Sonnet 13 As Wings Would Take To Skies For Lofty Flights
As wings would take to skies for lofty flights,
And waves would roll, ardent, towards the shore,
Would I, my love, pursue the pure delights,
Which once bestowed, I could not care for more;
We'll not aspire to soar, reaching the sun,
To fall Icarus-like on melted wings,
Nor sail the seas upon the waves we shun,
Except in calm, such as Poseidon brings;
But with your loving care throughout the years,
I'll have the bliss that every blessed owns,
And this fond heart to highest heaven swears,
Will have its fill of mirth without the clowns;
......This story ends, like most, might get retold,
......Yet like the skies and waves, it can't grow old.

Love Sonnet 158 Your Breathe Has Spoke To Me As Though Of Breeze
Your breathe has spoke to me as though of breeze,
That's blown from fields of blooming daffodils,
As puffs of babes that rivaled wisps from seas,
Or yawns scented by milk a mother fills;
Your eyes behold with light as though of flame,
That I won't dare to dim, with slightest slip,
For once, the monsoon they had put to shame,
By tears, that for many a day would drip;
Your gentle arms wrapped me in snuggled bliss,
As live caryatid, you have borne my hopes,
Not much the world denies, would I now miss,
For there's nothing that nary my heart copes;
……..Except, the nothingness of your absence,
……..Which causes nothingness to my presence.
