Robert Green

Turmoil

Your mind so tired, I can tell

we rant and we rave and feel the need to yell

I pull up a stool

you think I'm a fool

Opposite you I sit

and look at you for a bit

take hold of your hands

note the missing bands

Your fingers I twirl

My minds in a whirl

Paintings by fliss II Not So Abstract

Canvas on stand
Colours to the side
Pallet in hand
Let the brush slide

Orange and green
Coming from deep
Painting oh! Oh So serene
Trance like, almost a dream

Curves so sensual
The colours just flow
Enraptures, almost physical
Easy strokes, nice and slow

Show what's inside
Bristles caressing
Your hearts not lied
Smoothly, not fussing

Virgin Snow

There it lay, crisp and white

Fresh and pure from the fall last night

hear the gleeful squeals of children at play

Eyes bright at the sight

of untrodden virgin snow

Small feet kick the dusting white

carefree play in their colours so bright

small foot prints follow

the games they play

in virgin snow of that day

Life Cycle

Winter cold we are born
One of strife
To this we are sworn
This, the cycle of life

Into Spring we bound
New lambs bleating
Listen to their sound
Rains stop sleeting
From teens to thirties with a whoop
All around we group.

Along came the forties
In a Summer so bright
Some say the naughties
Everything seems so right.

Into Autumn
Life is a dash
This we tell them

My Walk IV: Autumn

Reds, browns, yellows and green
Amber, orange and gold
Halloween in Autumn seen
For us all, to behold

Crisp Autumn days
Leaves under foot crackle
Not long to stay
Hear some Ravens hackle.

Breath forming a small cloud
In the chill of the morn
A child's sharp intake loud
Happy faces never forlorn.

Sharp blue skies
So clear and clean
Birds on wing, to hibernation fly
Nature holding itself up to be seen

Your Whispered Breath

Your whispered breath
Lips close to ear
Words of love
Breathed accross cheek
Hair brushes my shoulder
Caressing bare skin
Over chest sweet kisses
Tongue wet
Lingers around nipple
Moist lips
Sigh
Hand tangled in hair
Kissed neck in response
Teeth nipping gently
Ear lobes
You astride
Nails leaving
Red wheals
Tracing
Lovers aroused

Drifting Thoughts

Fast moving river
Cold and deep
To immerse myself I deliver
From the jetty I leap

Coolness from the days heat
Lifes stresses abate
Heart misses a beat
Float on my back, at a sedate rate

Drifting downstream
Water gently rocking
Minds in a daydream
birds high, chirping, mocking.

Currant pulls faster
Water lapping
To rapids, and disaster
Arms and mind now flapping.

Torture

The mist is low, drifting like smoke
As a shroud, envelopes him
Wrapped in a cloak
In his mind, he carries his sin.
Forehead creased in a frown
Trees, leafless, ahead
Eyes cast down
Pointing to a trail of dread
thoughts whirling in his head
words mumbled, nothing said
Through this greying cloud
A song once sung
Words tumble, not out loud
cold mist in his lungs

Sightless, groping
For the future
Hoping
Slow walk, torture
Trees old and gnarled

Paintings by fliss III My Friend The Artist.

Am I to recover
A good friend I discover
An artist to take note
Of what I'm carrying about.

She paints a moment
A scene so poignant
Something to treasure
A coming together

Her art now loud
It speaks her proud
It calls for attention
Her abstract sensation

Two I have seen
One of orange and green
A canvas so clean
it's story serene.

Tower of Souls

How tall is this tower
Filled to the brim
More and more each hour
Every new soul, Each grim.

I stand outside looking in
How soon before I'm inside looking out
No soul as I, full of sin
Wants to shout.

Does this tower expand
To allow others in
No room to stand
Like waste into a bin

Dark clouds overhead
Thunder rolls, lightening strikes
No rest, or sweet dreams in bed
Toss and turn, the devil likes.
