A Devilish Woman

Tear away her chains,
those naughty wrist cuffs,
necklace, hot boots,
red lipstick

see, under her pink camisole,
there's a heart beat,
flickering,
fading, diminishing.

Tear away her smile
and there's a dark place,
mixed with poison
and it will be!

String along for the ride
and she'll kiss you,
lick you,
destroy you.

Having a ciggi on the wall

Upon the wall of death I scowl,
where the City air is foul,
so what does it matter if I inhale
I'm going to die soon, anyhow.

The local factory joins in too
its chimneys billow smoke anew
that make the locals cough and spew,
while rushing by to catch the tube.

The wall's my death bed, truth be known
not comfortable or soft or warm
as all my lungs fill up with grime,
this city life's a bloody crime.

Elusive Love.

Holding you is like the sliding of fine rain between my fingers,
I know it never ever lingers, but I try, I try

Holding you is like the rainbow in the sky, too wide, too wide.
your colours in an arc above my head, so high, so high.

Holding you is like a never ending dream, I float, I float
but in the morning when the sun rises at dawn

I turn to see your face upon the pillow next to mine; alone, alone.

New Beau

Old age crept upon me
and I didn't notice it!
My hair turned white,
my skin to pale,
my eyes to dim,
I'd gotten frail!
Old age had kicked
me from behind!

So I dyed my hair,
put contacts in,
rouged my cheeks
and then
I took up
different hobbies
to keep my
brain in trim!

Now that I've saved
what little's left

His door

His door is a closed
it doesn't open to anyone
and tells the world he's ferocious
and tells me he's insecure.

His door has numerous bolts,
it has a big sign saying
LEAVE ME BE
and they do, believe me.

This door SHOUTS
in a deep, dark troll's voice
that has grown men weeping
and sirens blaring.

It says, 'you wouldn't want to mess with me'
while he hides, eyes shut,
his back to the world
his shields up.

Forever Young

We don't change inside,
we only learn to subdue emotions.
Fundamentally - we stay the same.

On the outside we wrinkle,
our skin pales and crepes,
our eyes sink in _

but we don't change.
We still think like children,
feel like children

take falls like children,
cry and hurt and act like children,
hide like children,

for despite being tall
and knowing more
we are and always will be
_ forever young.

The two of us

We were ragged
We played in the street
We never had enough to eat.
We had conkers for toys
and strings in our knickers.
We went barefoot,
we never had slippers.
You had a rabbit
and I had a cat,
you had long socks,
some didn't have that.
We had green fields
in the summertime.
We had fresh air
as good as wine.
We had each other,
you and I.
But above all else
no matter what,
we had love

Discombobulated

Mostly her brain is addled,
not always but often perplexed
which leads me to think it's no wonder,
she ends up a mighty bit vexed.
It isn't as if she's not clever,
not brainy, not bright or not smart
but as soon she gets it together
the light bulb inside it goes phut!
She's often a little bit rattled
and awfully, always perturbed
whenever she's stressed or gets anxious
She screws up, it's just so absurd!

A Rose

Like a Rose, my love; full of thorns
and I am wounded hour by hour
from spikes that are his armour.

He is beautiful, with fine red petals.
They adorn his greenery. So lush;
this graceful and proud flower.

But why so prickly, hot, then cold,
when all I yearn is tenderness,
and all I seek is warm embrace.

Like a Rose he stings; day by day
and when I cling to him, I bleed
as he watches true love, fade away.
