Vive la différence
You Tarzan
Me Jane
You shout
Me explain
You dive in
Me refrain
You muscles
Me curves
You loud
Me reserved
You demand
Me defer
You impatient
Me serene
You dirty
Me clean
You handsome
Me pretty
You strong
me weak

A Thank You Note
For a moment
you were a butterfly.
I tried to pluck you from a flower,
capture you, keep you.
hold you in my hand
to relish your beauty,
I failed, of course, hopelessly,
your wings sprung open
to escape my grasp
but that freed me too
and so I write this little note
of gratitude to you.

Goodnight children
I flick off my high heels,
roll down my stockings,
loosen the clip in my hair!
I unzip my skirt,
unbutton my shirt
and leave them
strewn over a chair.
Then I climb into bed
with a hot rugged man
and snuggle up
under the covers.
It isn't a sordid love affair
for the dishy man
is your papa.

Telepathy
I was just thinking
about you,
it must be telepathy
for the phone rang
and it was you
and you said you
had tuned into me!
We must be an anomaly.
But I know friends
who call just when
I think of them
or say their name.
Perhaps this gift
is world through?
Or is it just
twixt me and you?

Recipe for love
A pinch of seasoning
to add some flavour,
a little sauce for fun
and lots of laughs.
Mix with a medley of
soft spoken adorations,
simmer and stir gently.
Don't leave too long,
nudge and heat slowly,
don't over stew,
add interest with
a teaspoon of spice,
unwarranted affection
and rose petals.

Chocolate box
Cellophane wrappers,
pictures so pretty.
Raspberry filling,
the tongue so willing.
The mind is aglow
with sweet flavours we know.
Cream, coffee and rum
for our well rounded tums.
Cherry is heady with sherry.
Whiskey is rich and it's fine.
Chocolate liqueurs are so heady,
please let the biggest be mine!

I'm Free
I dropped the wedding ring in the gutter,
slipped out of my mink,
gave the guy selling papers the wink,
lifted up my skirt and hailed a lift,
whereupon I called the airport
for the first flight out of New York
going anywhere, somewhere
away from everything I've ever known.
Finally able to say, I'm free.

Lost Heart
My love evaporated,
drifted upwards and hung over my world
like a dark cloud.
You might have thought
it would disperse, but no,
it took my heart with it.
There it held it
within its fog
and wouldn't let it go.
My tortured heart was captured,
melting into the dense mist
to be lost __________forever.

The Look
Some men have the look
the ‘I'm so super' grin
they wink at you and grimace
as if to lure you in.
And young girls have that air
I've seen their haughty stares.
The ‘I'm so gorgeous tease'
that they apply with ease.
As for me I'm plain
so I've not much to gain
The only look I wear
is two odd socks, long hair.

My child
I picked up my paintbrush
to capture your face,
pretty eyes, rosebud lips
and a smile to melt ice
and catch the sun.
But were your eyes small
and your hair dull,
if smiles were teardrops
that wiped out the sun
you would still hold my love
for between the paintbrush
and the canvass
there is your gentle soul.
