and If...
and if in truth our love's to be eternal
until the sun and moon refuse to shine,
then happiness is ours to own forever
withstanding all the ravages of time.
and if we reach the pearly gates of heaven
and the angels ask me whether you have sinned,
I'll tell them we were sinners both together
and without you I'd rather not go in…….

Time melts
The clock on the shelf marks time
and even as we watch it chimes.
I kiss your lips and then
time just melted again!
My children oh so small
are now full grown and tall!
Life passed me by and now
I'm old and grey.
Who will come and save me
from this crazy race I'm in?
Time flies and I, who thought I still had time,
didn't see it melt away.

A star in her pocket
Stars were her last hope,
they were going to save her,
Their pretty sparkle
would sit in her pocket,
waiting for that chance.
Tiny little pin heads of light
caught in a child's hand,
stuffed into a pocket,
to wait for monsters
and kill them, stone dead.
Years later she would learn,
you can't hold starlight
in your hand,
you can only watch it glow.

A Silence
You admonished me with your silence,
it filled the room like the eye of the storm.
I waited seven days for the rain to fall
but by the time the first dropp hit my face
I'd grown accustomed to the tension
and licked my lips, defiant.
I bit down hard and swallowed blood.
You begged to speak,
but silence you bestowed on me
and I returned the gift, real sweet.

Flower Power
Love was our weapon,
flowers our sword,
music our armour,
we sang till the dawn.
Peace man, be cool.
We were young
and our friendships
were tight.
We were tired but
never could say
goodnight.
Peace man,
have a nice day!
Then we drifted away
into our tomorrows

Caught
Just when he was reaching the nape of your neck,
licking and kissing all warm, soft and wet.
Just when your bra hooks had finally snapped
and the carpet was better than sofa or lap.
Just when you thought you'd lay back and do
all of those things you were told not to do
the doorbell rang twice and what's more, in a flash,
all of your family came pouring through!

On the shelf
It was a proud day for Tuna
when her time came.
She had her name on the
front of the tin.
The new folk at 69
took her in.
Placed her on the shelf
in their kitchen.
There she stood
for 50 years
forgotten and entombed
until
in 2005
the new folk
tipped her out
and threw her in the bin

The body says nothing
Naked axe man behind bush!
Naked axe man behind bush!
I taught my parrot well,
my trusty alarm and protector.
The naked axe man looked shocked
and as I stabbed at him,
he fell, heavy, in slow motion
landing, face down, on my stone floor.
His eyes, wide open, staring,
but his body said nothing
with the deafening sound of death
when death first steals the soul.

Unyielding heart
Since he died,
her days are full.
Life goes quickly
and so it should
Since he died she toils,
works longer hours
has more hobbies
and new friends.
Since he died
her throat is tight
she hardly sleeps
the gap is wide.
Since he died
she reminisces,
recalls his kisses,
those warm full lips.

March
Were I young again
and the month of March
were upon me
I'd skip down the road,
do a march to March,
sing a tune to March
dance a dance to March,
risk a prance to March,
strut and grind and do
a break dance to March.
Hop, skip and jump to March,
just like a the girl I used to be,
once upon a time in March,
when my cheeks had high colour
and my hopes were high.
