The Voice Says In My Heart

Dreaming of a life of peace,
Though I am shattered to pieces.
A damaged spirit, resulting from a defective mind.
Broken and irreparable, so I think.
But my thoughts got me here in the first place.
On my knees, looking up, I see the light.
Shining down on me from above.
It connects with the light inside.
The voices in my head silence.
My mind clears, true vision appears.
'Pick up the pieces.', the soft voice whispers from within.
'Many pieces, put together, makes a piece.'
'That is what you seek isn't it? '
'Give them to me, for the pieces are heavy'.
'What I have created, only I can fix.'
'It was broken by you in the first place.'
'Because I was not your first place.'
'I was your last. I was your end.'
'But now you have reached me, '
'Let me show you what I can do.'

Two Walls

Before you stands to great big walls.
One is shame and one is guilt.
And these two walls that you hide behind.
These are the two walls that you've built.

I know of this, these last few days.
The time I did reflect.
Another wall it was called my pride.
And it's what I would protect.

Fight tooth and nail, lay my life down.
For whose life just did I fight?
For the people I hurt by my misdeeds?
Of course not, I was right.

'They deserved it all' I truly thought.
As I masked my inner pain.
'I did was was right' my pride replied.

All the joy that was in your eyes.
Has been replaced by sorrow.
If you can’t live life for today.
I worry for your tomorrow.

The rear view mirror is where you stare.
Not on the road ahead.
You don’t live a life of the living.
You live a life of the dead.

For the past is gone and won’t return.
Today is all you’ve got.
You seek the things you do not have.
But you really have a lot.

Guarded Heart

We all make bad mistakes, this I know
At some point, we have to learn to let things go
We forgive, but not forget
We hold on to our regrets
But we smile and carry on with our show

Everybody loves a happy ending
But we all carry on, just pretending
Sister, you hold on to your hurt
Life’s a priceless gift, do you know what it’s worth?

How long do you want to hold on to the pain?
Until it destroys your precious heart or until it makes you go insane?

God's Gardener

You underestimate my love
Like I underestimated His
You feel my love is what you think
Rather than it really is

For many years I did not know
What love was all about
And then I hit my knees one day
And now there is no doubt

No doubt at all that I was wrong
What a selfish way I lived
I thought it was about receiving
Then He showed me it's what I give

We all will reap just what we sow
And now I will obey
I'll plant my seeds in fertile ground

Hole Hearted

Once whole hearted,
Now, hard hearted,
Leaving a hole in my heart.
I thought we just took a break,
Not realizing it was the break,
Thinking we could fix what was broken,
Instead of shattering the pieces.
Now, four broken hearts
Instead of just two.
When I put my heart before yours and the kids,
The result was catastrophic.
Now you put your heart before mine, and the kids.
The result will be no different for you,
As it was for me.
You never deserved what I put you through.
In the end, we each get what we truly deserve.
I had heaven, and traded it for hell.

Mindfield

He screams at me in my own voice.
Dismantling my being thread by thread.
While inside I cower to the deepest depths of my soul.
I rage, yet I am gentle.
I am not good enough, yet I am great.
I am weak, yet so strong.
I am ugly, yet I am beautiful.
I am right, yet I am wrong.
I do what I think, and not think of what I do.
Greed, power, control and fear.
Feeding my starving mind.
A glutton that can never be satisfied.
I must be right.
In order to be right, I cannot do right.
Burying myself deeper and deeper inside.
It is not the world that can fix me.
It is the world that broke me.
I am truly broken.
I try to seep through the cracks of my brokenness.
I still see no light though.

Deceptive Mind

Watch as His miracle unfolds.
And then you may believe.
You seem to doubt what is unseen.
Your mind it will deceive.

They claim Confucius did exist.
And say Jesus did not.
They believe his words of wisdom.
Not what Our Savior Jesus taught.

Maybe it's because they'd have to give.
And Sacrifice all they own.
The words of the wise may make you think.
But with those words you're still alone.

Our savior was beat and tortured.
Paid the price for the wrongs we do.
And bled to death up on a cross.
You believe this is untrue.

How many women are out there,
That are looking for a man?
That would fight for what he believes in,
And would do whatever he can.

How many women are out there,
That wish that they could find?
A man that looks at future.
Not the things that are left behind.

How many women are out there,
That seek a man who's true?
When the situation arises,
It's the right thing he will do.

How many women are out there,
Looking for a man with determined heart?

You've shown me how to love
