My Beauty External
I stand in front of the mirror.
I turn on the light, so my reflection I can see.
But things are not as they appear.
I do not like what I see.
I just want to be beautiful.
The lights are dimmed, to minimize the outward appearance.
I try to appease an outside world,
I want them to see the beautiful me.
Why is it they speak of a beauty that I do not find so apparent?
Why is it I see the same beauty in another that stares in disappointment at their reflection?
Their lights too are dimmed.
But it is not the outward light that shows beauty.
It is my inward light.
If my inward light is dimmed.
Then it is my inner beauty that lurks in the darkness of my own mind.
A battle that has raged since before the dawn of time.
I shut off the light,
I cannot shut off the voices in my mind.
Many voices screaming, drowning out the one that whispers.
They tell me I am not good enough.

First Step
I can only know true peace, once I have had no peace.
I can only know God, after I have had no God.
I can only know true love, once I have had no love.
To know the truth, the untruth must be realized.
What is unreal, can only then become real.
What is unseen, can only then become seen.
What is unknown, will then become known.
The journey is only a thought, until it has been embarked upon.
The destination cannot be reached, until the first step has been made.
The journey is all of the steps.
I keep looking outside, to find what was always truly within.
My search is fruitless.
For where we are destined to go, is where we have already been.
The past unlocks the door, to the destiny of future, which can only be obtained in the present.
For what was, determines what will be, in the what is.
But just the thought of this only leaves the what if.
We are not here to discover the world,
We are here to discover ourselves.
For it is only here,
That the true treasure lies buried deep within.

Life As A Mountain
He stands at the bottom of the mountain.
The one he plans to climb.
He knows it'll have it's challenges,
And will take a lot of time.
So he beings his journey,
He tires very quick.
But the man, he journeys on,
The climb will be epic.
A week has passed, the man is lost,
But he does not dismay.
For he knows that he will reach the peak,
And looks forward to that day.
The climb it does continue,
The terrain is very steep.
To climb the mountain was his promise,
And his promise he will keep.

Heart On Fire
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Hindsight is 20/20.
Wisdom comes from mistakes.
I know I've made plenty.
It's the blind leading the blind.
We walk into the same wall.
You better look before you leap.
'Cause every rise has it's fall.
Chorus:
The sky's the limit.
So it's time to look up.
If your running on empty.
He'll fill your cup.
He knows your wants.
He knows your desires.
Let him ignite your life.
And set your heart on fire.

I Love You
I love you when you laugh with me
I love you when you smile
I love you when you're mad at me
Hope it's only for a while
I love you when you talk with me
I love you when you yell
I love you when you ignore me
Even though it feels like hell
I love you when you listen
I love you when you cry
I love more & more everyday
Without you I would die
I love you when we go for walks
I love you when we eat
I love you for your time with me
Your presence is a treat

True Love
Put myself aside.
For the sake of another.
The one I call friend.
The one I call lover.
My jaded past.
And The hurt that I gave.
The pain she endured.
My emotional slave.
I have learned a new way.
I see through new eyes.
I want to bring joy.
Into both of our lives.
He will come first.
With her right behind.
What once was all selfish.
Now loving and kind.

One is All, All is One
I will live a thousand lives.
I will sleep a thousand sleeps.
Though the thousand is really one.
I will dream a thousand dreams.
I will become a thousand people.
Though, the thousand is really one.
One is all and all is one.
Each a part, of the wonder I get to learn.
My journey is a million miles,
Yet to an ant, the same journey is a billion.
What is irrelevant is more relevant than you can imagine.
My life is my creation; it is I, which writes my story.
I pick the characters, I pick the scenes, I pick the outcome.
I could not think outside my own thoughts.
I lived a life with writer's block.
Fearing what is next, as I believe it is an unknown.
Yet, I can make that fear real, if I let it consume me.
If fear is my faith, it is what I will find.
The feeling is real, yet the feared only a thought,
But I make it my reality, then my reality it becomes.

Armchair Christian
All hail the Armchair Christian!
Pointing out the wrongs of others,
One sin at a time.
Fighting the spiritual battle,
From the comfort of your living room.
Your God is tailor made.
He fits you like a fine custom suit.
You could live a life that's abundant.
You choose to live one that is redundant.
To serve is what you expect from others.
You wear a cloak of self-righteousness.
You can do no wrong Armchair Christian.
You were given the special pass.
Your keenness can detect sin from a mile away.
It's is easy for you.
For you are spotless.
Throwing around scripture like an actor performing on stage.
Saying the lines you feel define the story.
Skipping the scenes you feel do not.
If God needed an Editor for the bible,

This Heart Made of Stone - Song Lyrics
The holes in Your hands filled the hole in my heart
You put me together, when I fell apart
I’m feeling brand new, You’re making me whole
You gave me direction when I lost control
The storm it has blown over and the sun is shining bright
What was once filled with darkness, now beaming with light
All my pride and anger, you turned them to love
You rescued me from the vultures now I’m flying with the doves
Chorus:
You fill me, You shake me
Oh Lord, can you break me
Cause I can’t do this alone
So please take my hand
I want the promise land
Please guide me back to my home
You’ve softened this heart made of stone
Your love for me has never changed, it has always been the same

One Fateful Friday Night
The night was young, the energy high.
The weekend was in sight.
For four lads from Vancouver.
On one fateful Friday night.
They suited up, put on their best.
And filed into the car.
Not knowing for them what lay ahead.
Off they went to a local bar.
The bar was packed, the drinks went down,
Everything seemed just right.
They were having the time of their lives.
That fateful Friday night.
They drank and drank and drank some more.
Until it was last call.
They ordered up a round of shots.
All for one and one for all.
