I Long For Answers, My Dear Moon!

My dear pretty glamorous Moon!
I long for answers for these-
Foremost of all, 'are you a man or a maid?
You sway the minds of each sex
To the loving gaze of your eyes
And each fancies you are of opposite sex
And rain passions of love up into the heavens!
Have you an idea of how many ages
You have been wandering alone in the heavens?
How many tales of love could have budded
Blossomed, breathed fragrance and fruition gained
Under the soft rain of your milky benevolence?
How many stories you have stored in memory
Of wasted, withered love during your night walks?
How many lovers you have burnt in separation
By increasing their love and longing by casting silent looks?
Why, out of all heavenly souls, you alone stir us mortals
And even lesser creations into the vortex of love?
How do you manage the crazy clouds
That close in on you with lustful arms?

Your Great Works Are In Silence Born..!

a prelude-:

we have been trained from ageless past to view'night and darkness' with a sort of aversion, fear and animosity.
night and darkness have been treated as 'antonyms' or 'opposites royal' to 'day and light'.
darkness has always been symbolized with ignorance.
day and night have been portrayed as the sworn enemies of the first order-one ready to pounce upon the other with flexed muscles to devour or demolish or drive away the other.
why such a view point?
could there be any disharmony in 'nature'?
why not shift our angle of vision, broaden our weighty narrowness on nature's beautiful back?
why not look kindly at' night' which gives rest to our tired limbs, fills our closed eyes with colourful dreams and rejuvenates our spirits?
why not consider ' day and night ' as ' true friends ' each performing with utmost sincerity the complementary tasks ordained by 'nature ' in the most friendly way-one taking leave of the other with heartfelt affection and the other saying ' good-bye ' with tearful eyes?
we should understand that ' light and shadow are inseparable-playing hide and seek with each other.
there is a faint light which our eyes can discern even in pitch-dark nights.
then why not give expressions to such a feeling of friendliness in a verse forgetting our own creations of fear.?
also, while nature's great constructive works blossom in solemn silence without any pomp and noise, her roaring deeds like tempest, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc., end up in devastation and misery.

now please read my poem.

Dawn gently touches the Night with a ray of Light-
' Rest, my dear, your duty is over ! '

Bursting Smiles Out Of A Blooming Cry !

mother dear.!

On an eventful bygone day
at the peak of
your love-born lust storm
an insignificant shapeless ' spark '
driven by another lust
sought refuge in you!

You kept IT safe
in your protective warmth-
as a priceless jewel-
deep in the confines of your abdomen
stationing all guards
in their intense watch!

To mould IT with all supreme aspects
you drenched yourself
in the dream rains of 'Spring '

Anna Hazare and Corruption

anna hazare and fight against corruption
crowds pour in thousands
to see actors for their glamouur
to politicians to blindly support their falsities
to so called saints to revere their false robes
to orators mesmerized by the web of words
to singers to melt in their melodies-
but all has its own limits of assemblage
as most of them lack universal appeal
as most lack truth and sincerity of the deliverers'
as most of them are dishonest and self-serving-
the surging crowds gradually peter out-
the crowds would easily sense their purpose.
but, here is a man, though diminutive
stands colossal among giants of politician cheats
to crush them all under his mighty feet-
he, unlike others, lives a truthful and simple life-
a real soldier of the army in action fronts
a whole village testifying his service in broader light-
a man committed to a cause dear to all and sundry-

A Bird Has Just Commenced Its Flight

[ Prologue ]

This is my preface poem of my first collection of poems in 1990.
-
A Bird -
has just commenced its flight
amidst milky cloud herds
in the blue heavens!

So long-
years upon years-
in the dense jungles of its 'mind'
perching on the topmost branches
of its 'intellect'..
combing its wings of 'poesy'
in the warmth of sweet 'solitude'-

Feasting on every bit of
horizon's holy 'delights'
and greener plains' finest 'ecstasies'

O ... The Girl With The ' Veenaı '!

O my darling!
Take in your hands this beautiful Veenai.
Upon the delicate strings of the divine Veenai
Ride soft your tender fingers!
O.. what a melodious strain it is!
My lids of themselves do slowly close..
My flesh and bones all slowly soften
In the divine waves your Veenai outspreads..
My mind in the sweet melody of music-
No, .no..in the cruel pain of that Supreme Joy-
Suffers much and wriggles like a snake..
Lo..! how short of words I am my feelings to express!
Alas! I know not of their kind too..
And your Veenai's voice chokes my heart...
My chest is full of pain..
My soul melts in music..
O my beloved!
What song do you play? .
Tell me dear..
To what tune have you set it?

Talking to Myself...

talking to myself
&
care you this world-
this world of men,
o my friend?
must you then be an idiot!
worry not a bit;
woo it not-
the more you woo
more the bites would you get-
with scornful eyes
it would jeer at you-
on your path slanders
would it sow in plenty-
for it is a mysterious mad world.
&
so take up that lovely harp-
tune its delicate sparkling strings
to the pitch of emotion
that sings witin you-

Birthday Greetings To A Noble Brother Turning 75

birthday greetings to a noble brother turning 75...

&

when we were school boys

we were thrilled through and through

on hearing your brief home-coming visits

from madhurai city to uthamapaalayam village-

you were our cheers

with your bundle of small gifts

aptly selected to match our expectant hearts-

yes, you alone knew our thirsts and dreams-
