A request to society

Foetus -
A request to society
Don't abort us in hasty
I will thank you wholeheartedly!

Newborn girl child -
A request to society
Don't poison us prematurely
Allow us to live; We might
light the lamp in your family!

A newly-wed bride -
A request to society
Not to indulge in bride burning
for the sake of dowry!

A grown up woman -
A request to society
Women are part of everyone's family
Consider us to live peacefully!

Healthy fruit - Guava!

While I entered into my kitchen,
The aroma of a nice fruit pierced my nose!
It gave an euphoria to my sense,
O' It is a smell of Guava!

Yellow in color,
Ripened in nature,
It invited me to eat
and taste;

I took the fruit in my hand,
I took the knife too kept aside,
I cut the fruit gently with care,
into pieces of four;

I tasted the fruit, Guava,
It was yummy yummy,
Very tasty and yummy,
Healthy fruit - Guava!

The Twilight Fairies

The Twilight Fairies magical powers,
Bring harmony to the night time hours.
But now their magic belong to me,
And I'll cause chaos you shall see.

Sunset, Moonlight and Starlight too,
There will be no more sweet dreams for you.
From evening dusk to morning light,
I am the master of the night! .

Of course this poem is not about me or Nivi,
We do not cause chaos, do we?
I just made up that rhyme,
Now it is Good Bye time!

An illiterate who knows nothing

As if a poor man in need of money
waiting for the right time at the mercy
of a rich man to improve his family,

An illiterate who knows nothing
and wants to learn some thing
to get power and knowledge
has to wait patiently and humbly
at the mercy of a learned scholor;

If not, he can't learn
and considered as lowest
among the men!

While You Are Near Me

I feel as if I was in hell
While I was waiting for you near the well;

I feel when I had a glimpse of your face
My heart was beating in high pace;

I feel when I saw you in the corner of the street
My ventures get fulfilled and all things done right;

I feel as if I am in the verge of my life
While you were not with me, as wife;

I feel extremely happy and immensely healthy
While you are near me and lead my life cheerfully.

Punishable Bad Elements

The king / the ruler / justice who punishes
by killing / hanging the bad elements
after confirmation of the crime is justified;

It is similar to an agriculturist removing weeds
for the best yield of the cropful field!

(Punishable bad elements are those
who create nuisance to others;

by immolating others with fire,
by poisoning, killing by weapons,
burglers, highway robbery and dacoity,
and illegal contact with others' wife!)

The Pleasing Kind Words And Courtesy

An elephant is controlled
by fastening to a heavy post, (kattuth thaRi) :

The furious cobra is quietened
by blowing special trumpet, (makudi) :

The wretched unworthy men are punished by beating,
subdued by law-enforcing person, usually King,
and tied with iron hand-cuffs;

The pleasing kind words and courtesy
- by good thought, speech and deed -
are the factors sufficient to develop intimacy
with virtuous and worthy people indeed!

It Tastes Like NECTAR

To be an unwanted guest
sitting alone in the absence of the host
eating food 'hot and shining like an eye of a cat',
It is not delicious, but considered 'bitter like neem';

If you happen to eat in a house
where you are greeted kindly with respect,
the host also accompanies you to dine,
however they are poor;

Even if they provide cold watery gruel,
prepared with poor quality rice grains,
It tastes like NECTAR,
imbibes with your mind and body.

If you want to win over others

If anybody don't want fame, but ignominy,
he can go for begging in the community!

If your name has to be established in the good sense,
Do service to the mankind and make a mark in the universe!

What comes with you in the end and what you take with you
is what good deeds you have done to the people around you!

If you want to win over others with whom you compete,
Leave the anger; and with everybody be kind and polite!

A Brahman Wins By Tactics

A person who owns oxen and bulls is a former,

A Brahman who is unable to win by valor
To get things done as he likes to his favor
Wins by tactics similar to cock coaxes and manages
To win the hen by approaching and embracing with one thigh,

A girl with beauty and knowledge is most fit for family life,

A person who has an efficient battalion of soldiers
Is an ideal commander for an army,

These are the messages said
by learned and experienced men.
