The Fog Returns
Today the fog returns,
As betimes it does—
Quietly settling in,
‘Fore one could know it was.
The streetlights glisten
Through the misty haze,
With emitted ambience
That readily amazes.
But soon the fog will lift
And silently creep away,
To mysteriously return
Again some other day.

Fish Live in the Ocean
Fish live in the ocean.
They do not live on land.
I’m not sure they’d want to,
Even if they can.
Fish would have a time
Tunneling through sand.
Then there’s the predator—
Which is man.
Fish love their environment,
Which is to us—bland;
And they're better in the ocean—
Not on land.

A Guitar Song
It has entertained the masses
O’er the stretch of time,
And has seen its heyday
In the light and the lime.
The guitar is fashioned
A stringed instrument
That mirrors the heart
With rhythmic sentiments.
And like an old friend
That never goes away—
The guitar is a staple,
That's here to stay.

Laughter Is infectious
Laughter is infectious:
It is a joyful sound
That, once it starts ringing,
Passes all around.
Laughter is infectious:
Some folks have no clue
As to what another’s laughter
Could do unto you.
Laughter is infectious:
You can get it on a whim,
But chances of it harming
Are very—very slim.

A Song Of Faith
I will write of faith
In a simple little song.
And sing it in my heart
As I go along.
And remember such faith
When things go wrong
Faith in the words of a song.
I will hum it when
I’m sad and blue.
I will hum it when
I’m happy too.
I will hum it when
There is naught to do.
I will hum
My little faith song.

Winter Is Coming
Ready or not,
While fall’s at play,
Winter is coming;
It’s on the way.
Cold and flu.
So here’s the scoop:
Pull out the blankets.
Prepare the soup.
Sometimes the weather
Behaves quite odd,
But winter can be
Very hard.
Think pets, pipes,
Flowers in the yard.
Don’t let old man Winter
Catch you off guard.

Zebra
From Africa is the zebra.
Nowhere else does it roam
Innately, wild and free—
But in Africa, its home.
It feasts with the wildebeest,
And migrates with the same—
Steering clear of lions there,
Which sees it as fair game.
But, oh, the lovely zebra
With its stripes unique,
Brings a certain flair to life.
‘Tis nature's own mystique.

The Sea and the River
Since the first day
(The beginning of time) ,
The river and the sea
Are relevantly prime.
The sea needs the river
And the river needs the sea.
Such co-dependence
Was meant to be.
Hand-in-hand,
Unspeakably strong—
With one heart,
They venture along.
An awesome team.
A force in the earth.
The sea and the river—
Of invaluable worth.

Calla Lily Ballad
The 'calla' is exquisite
To peer 'pon with delight.
Its thick-green stem
Is a unique sight.
A favorite, it lends
Its touch to all:
Boutonnière, centerpiece,
Paintings for the wall.
A gorgeous flower,
The calla lily is.
A gorgeous flower,
The calla lily is.
Its beauty—endless—
Is never remiss.
A gorgeous flower,
The calla lily is.

Japan Needs Us
Laying squarely
In nature’s path,
Japan fell victim
To her wrath.
And now is ravaged
By her force,
Which in fury
Took its course.
.
They need our gifts
And our prayers.
They need our sympathy
And our wares.
They need good wishes
As they strive
In their trek
To survive.
