Migration

I owned it.
As it dawned on me.
Hopelessness!
Sudden realization, of a deed.

Long time acoming - It was.

Awhile lingered - On its way.
Yet, inevitably approached.
Unkind fate.
Doom! I was wedded to.

Why resist its call?
Thus extend, my agony.
Waiting, expecting - Fearing!
To fall - Ever and again.

Why not cease?

Surrender.

Hunger

Why, needless suffering and I.
Such close acquaintances.
As brothers became?

How will I?
Enrich myself.
Enough, to purchase.
Yet another parcel, meal.

Where will I find, that chance?

To till a plot of land.
Turned to desert.
Soil into dust, which...
Wind scatters, from my hand.

Pity my wife, child indeed.
For again, a day shall dawn.
When I fail my care.
Miss, my keep.

A Legend

Something, I looked.
Something, I filled.
Some giveth meaning.
At the last…

Thoughts, feelings.
Those loved, along the way.
As I sat, studied.
Read, imagined deeds!

Tales from beyond…

Far and wide.
Yearned for those.
Wondrous adventures, of might.
To release me, from thy fright.

Dispossess, my heart.
From thee, simple need.
Of love, hurt!

Honor

Honor, pride.
My friend.
Where lies its gain?
Why, my friend?

Do you wish to hide?
Behind such idle words.
When forever hidden lies.
Lacks, true accomplishment.

When, thy vanity.
So blossomed and grew.
Blinded your eyes.
Deafened both ears.

Fully blocked.
Thy brilliance, of mind.
Ability, to discern.
Realize the truth.

Sandcastles

It was a dark - Foggy day.
When I decided to venture ahoy!
Ahead, onto the beach.
To face its sandy dunes.

So thither, I headed.
Passed via coastal road.
Through bleak shrubberies.
Which masked every approach.

Finally ended, saw my goal.
Those sandy dunes.
Mile, after another - They extend.
Fill me with awe.

So I waded ahead.
Arrived, sat upon a sandy reef.
Alone, for now.
Reminisced of you.

Doubts

Another night alone.
I was doomed to spend.
Watch, yet again.
Evening's linger.

Its drawn-out game.
With my notes, I stirred the air.
Caused, a candle's wisp.
With it, soothed the night.

Keen, cold was its plight.
As I listened.
Immersed myself.
In a whispered melody.

Experienced.
The gathering of flames
Tenderly playing upon my space.
As walls slowly bent around - Closed in.

Haunting

Tonight, as I stayed alone.
An apparition came to me.
Quietly whispered, my name.
Rose, a vapor from the ground.

Quickly occupied.
Every shadow.
Darkened corner.
Moved, amist.

Whisper, in the wind.
Hid, behind every tree.
Unspoken darkness.
Oblivion, malice - It brought.

Lurking, watching.
Each move, I make.
Touching me.
As my back was turned.

Nest of Vipers

'Twas early spring.
When I got out to smell.
Wood, flowers, amidst melting snow.
Last ice, early birds and all.

Saw cranes, sparrows and swans.
Arriving by group and flock.
With the mourning wind.
Warmth of sun, to end the winter-chill.

Darkness, of heart.
It often seeded and brought.
So I went, a walk.
Within the woods.

Alone, for a while.
I wanted.
To witness, taste.
Smell it all!

The Tower

Upon a moonlit meadow.
We stood and glanced.
Measured ourselves.
Took a fateful contest.

One!

Pitted against the other.
We fought and raged.
Blindly bellowed, vented.
Our fear, anger and craze.

So I stood.
For my part.
Took a stand.
Against thee - Enemy!

Allowing aggression to grow.
I clenched my fists.
Howled out - In distress.
