I'm aware your love... [Ştiu c-amorul tău...]
I'm aware your love is great
And you suffer deeply, too,
That is why I do not wait,
But I run away from you.
Don't you see that my own soul
Is capricious and insane,
That my fate has a bad goal,
Which I'm frightened to explain?
And in life I hate a lot
When I'm cherished for my worth,
To love him who loves me not
Is my fate upon the earth.

The only luck... [Singurul noroc...]
The only luck and boon I knew
In this wide world, my only drive,
Was in my heart to wait for you
And always keep my wish alive.
The only plague which gave me pain
And made me feel a horrid fear
Was my tremendous bitter strain
For I had lost you, O, my dear.
Today, when my own heart is bare
And all the pains have gone away,
With irony I calmly stare
At my sweet dream of yesterday.

Alone [Singură]
How many times I felt revived
By every move heard near,
Thinking that maybe you arrived,
O, vision sweet and dear.
How many times in bed at night
I cried and suffered, too,
And by myself put out the light,
My darling, without you.
O, if you knew, despite my yawn,
How many nights were white,
I stayed awake for you till dawn,
My hot and fierce delight.
If you had briefly come, dear friend,
Brought by the fate insane –
Your kiss might then have put an end
To this eternal pain!

How lost its strength... [Şi cum s-a stins...]
How lost its strength and then grew pale
That love which seemed to reach the skies,
You almost think it's just a tale,
Which you have heard from other guys.
And as the clouds on their long way
Forsake the land and the blue sea,
So the sweet thrill will go away
And dies the love which used to be.
The feeling is forever new
Deep down inside the mortals' chest,
And all the nature changes, too,
Until you find eternal rest.
And when I think of you, my dear,
I do not cry that we're apart,
Because today to me it's clear
That all the love, which fills your heart,

If I could raise my hand... [Să pot întinde mâna...]
If I could raise my hand to gently touch your brow
The hair strands lying there I'd put aside right now,
I'd make it clear and pure as lilies white, sublime,
An icon of sweet love to worship all the time.
But like an evening star you sparkle far away
And just for a short while from there you come my way,
Then vanish in thin air; however, in my mind
I worship every day your vision dear and kind.

In the ashes
In the ashes there abides
Very often a small flame
And a secret love resides
In the soul of every dame.
And the passions burned away
My poor heart that fled to you,
But the love in it will stay
And for ever will be true.

When the ink of my soul runs dry
Sometimes, when the ink of my soul runs dry,
when my heart is too hurt to sing, the words too painful to be said,
then the silence is my voice, the blue sky my hope,
the ocean is my tear,
the stars are my dreams,
the flowers my smile, and the birds my freedom.
Your Peace overflows.
The beauty of each day overwhelms me.

You are not... [Nu eşti tu...]
You are not the one who hurt me and who broke my heart in two,
Don't be perky that I loved you and I cried for you, my friend,
You were just a ghost, a vapor, of a moment which I knew
That would touch my soul and bind it with a longing without end.
And if happened to torment me and if I am troubled still,
You are not the cause of all these, you're not guilty, I dare say,
My own soul is the true culprit for it felt a profound thrill,
But the love is mine for ever, you're the wink that flew away.

Near the craddle [Lângă leagăn]
On your forehead a nice wreath made of myrtle I will place
And around your neck I'll tie a rich necklace full of grace,
On your smooth and rounded arm like the lily petals, white,
I'll put bracelets, coral red, and fine rubies shining bright.
A nice dress as white as foam, light as clouds which cross the sky,
On your shoulders I will hang and like angels who can fly
You will also fly away – but instead of mother's kiss
Your dear soul will then be rocked by sweet love and perfect bliss.

I raise a Hallelujah every day Sonnet
As the bow dances gently on the strings,
a great Hallelujah is being born,
Sublime whispers land on the angels' wings,
far away, softly cries the old brass horn.
Many unseen choirs sing a song of praise,
A thankful heart is writing a poem,
God smiles from heaven through the warm sun rays,
I smile back, so happy that I know Him.
Amazing Grace resounds in the valley,
Never-ending echo of His blessings,
His Song I forever proudly carry,
The Song of Love on my violin strings.
I'll raise a Hallelujah every day,
as long as I will live and I can pray.
