A Seasoned Year

After summer on each summer leaf
Various hues the season bequeath
Of golden-red and orange-yellow
They spiral down to rest in fallow

Next season brings cold on it’s breath
Of warm temperatures winter has theft
Snowflakes knit a blanket of white
Ice storms make you shiver in fright

Wildlife awakens in short hours
Fragrance hints at blooming flowers
Springing roots deep in the ground
Breathtaking colors make you spellbound

Warmth’s arrival on whispering winds
The rays of sun licking burnt skins
Placid waters offer cool shelter from heat
Summer’s busy melody creates a hot beat
