Angie Pierce

Old Winter

White flakes caressing this now fragile skin
Generations of my identity now surround
Family all over serving as kin
Praying for a healthy day that is profound
Sharing memories that will soon be lost
Not fearing to depart for I am ready
Happy thoughts that seem to stay with no cost
Shaking hands trying to keep steady
And the coldness keeps coming,
Till you are no longer running
