The Virtuous Woman

A woman divine, a woman chaste
Men try to win her advantage in haste
To her husband she remains faithful
Always for her family she is prayerful
Her worth, the diamonds on earth cannot equate
She is ready to help the needy at her gate
Her husband can entrust in her his heart
Save and secure will be his mast
Dutiful and industrious in dexterity
Bringing for her household ample prosperity
Her children praise God for such gift
Not every woman can enjoy such lift
Blessed are you among women
Your wisdom transcends that of many men

The House of Treasures

There is a house filled with treasures
Many strife to enter and get a sit
But the sits are reserved for only a few
War begin in the land as they crave to enter
They inflicted injury on some
Damaged the properties of some
And even eliminated others
Who their chances of getting in debar
And now the house of treasure still remains
Occupied by thieves and murderers
Plowing the treasures into foreign accounts
Living in luxurious houses and bullet proof cars
Their neighbours can live in a hut
And ride rickety bicycles in empty stomachs
If it were easy they would try their luck
Next time there is the call
To enter into the house of treasures

The People You Put There

The people you put there, justice has laid off
Path of the truth will prevail no matter how rough
One after the other, they are being deposed
You did not leave a good legacy
We fight for democracy, you for autocracy
And like a tyrant lord, you fixed here and there
Lackeys, who will your instructions bear
You gave no regard for the people's mandate
Just to retain your party's potency till date
You gave your minions irresistible boldness
To accrue power out of sheer wickedness
Your pot belly full of imaginations
The breeding ground of various manipulations
But know this grizzled grandsire
Justice has begun to reign in our empire
Shame on perpetrators of corruption
Praise for those who fight for a just nation

The Ruler and the Ruled {4}

A fresh graduate after his service
For job he roamed the province
There were vacancies in the ministry
He applied for one immediately
The director looked at him and inquired
'Your certificate is exactly what is required
But are you a relative to the president? '
He shook his head and said no
'Are you an in law to the vice? '
He shook his head and said no
'Are you a family friend to a senator? '
He shook his head and said no
'Are a cousin to the speaker? '
He shook his head and said no
'Are you a neighbour to a minister? '
He shook his head and said no
'Sorry, young man you cannot get a job in this tower
You did not pass the nomination of any big man in power
Although your certificate speaks good of your prowess
Try your luck somewhere else'

Jewish Africa

Just like the Israelites we wander
In the wilderness for years we gather
Picked from Benjamin to Reuben
To work in the vineyard of Buren
Our Charles they modified to Oroonoko
Until the Lord heard our cry of woe
Then they sent us back to our Canaan land
After they had through us raised pyramids amongst sand
We never knew but were made to know
The men ye called savage still had the glow
To transmit the story across ages
For it to be criticized fairly by all sages

We strife to rebuild the wall the Chaldees pulled down
But the cedar tree had been burnt to its gown
We try to repair the ruins of the temple
But the pillar of brass they long trample
Our saviours Herod primed for destruction
From Nazi our leaders take instruction
To betray and destroy us in holocaust

Fear Thou, Oh Nation

The warning, the alarms
Imminent danger looms the streets, the farms
Crying out loud for everyone to hear
Those things that should make the nation fear.

Fear not that the nation is diverse
It is an issue we cannot reverse
Fear not for varying ethnicity
The tower of Babel bears responsibility
Fear not the dissimilar languages you speak
Lingua franca will edge the prick
Fear not thou exogamy
True love might not be found in endogamy

But fear thou oh nation, the emotion
Of leaders who represent your notion
For they are in corruption engulfed
Money, not your interest loved
Fear thou oh nation, the war
Of people who protect your law
