Pushing Red Daisies
A red wine lifeline
A billowy smoke pillow
Hazy daisy end

Enlighten
Whisper to me now
Paint me a picture with depth
Reveal all I miss

Tether
My heart is tethered
My struggle goes unnoticed
His hand on the rope

Wonder Why
We wallowed in truth
Thick and weighted were those words
Wrought with 'Wonder why...'

Raised From The Scroll
I'm running just like
The tears down my cheek and ink
on the tear-stained page
I'm running behind
But write looking forward to
Times that live in words
As a new dawn breaks
Life is breathed into the chest
Of words ‘til they wake
My sorrow they take
And settle my restless soul
Words raised from the scroll

Fifth Avenue At Twilight
Across the moonlit painted skies
The lonely windows weep
And in their faces candles creep
Much to the night's demise
Shadows walk the alleyways
They slither through the grime
Crooked top hats droop with time
Deflecting others' gaze
Trees are few and weak under trial
As smog accumulates
And all life slowly suffocates
Under its ashen smile

Dear Stillness,
Still, are you here?
Still, it is I.
Still, you have found me.
Shrouded with the weight of your presence,
Shifting through what scars memory has captured,
Shredding through ties that have kept me intact.
Shrapnel splits veins, leaving venom to spread.
Still, you are no comfort,
Still, you hover like a thick mist,
Still, I am deafened by your whispered silence.
Still, I need you to go, but
Still, I want you to stay.

Empty Presence
I found a lifeline in you, glass of wine
And I gave my blood to you
But my heart is on loan from a long time ago
To the man that made me surrender to you
If it were up to me I'd be rid of it all
But I just can't release
My grip from him or the bottle
Though both become empty, they tease
Persisting to provoke, always present
But fleeting and leaving a trail as a token
Of tears and red drops that are Hell-bent
On reminding me that all that's left is false hope indefinite

The Regretable Pattern
I drew a pattern on the floor
Stood up to walk the lines
Faced the end and found the more
I walked there were more signs
I read the detours, U-turns, yields
Tried to leave the path I drew
Admired from afar the oceans, woods and fields
I wish I'd drawn in but never knew
I neared my destination quicker than I'd hoped
Looked upon the soil cold and dark in which I'd lay
Regretted using pen, and trying in vain around I groped
For something to erase the pre-laid plans for my final day

Hope For The Lost Soul
The yellow smile of dawn has broken
Over the land of shadows
And every soul touched by the hallowed
Voice of Heaven spoken
Fear not for soon I'll come for you
Fear not what that day brings
You shall be wrapped in angels' wings
And flown to skies so blue
With nothing left to do but wait
I sit and ponder time
And what it means that a soul like mine
Could pass through golden gates
Tarnished, torn, and twisted ‘round
But recognized by some
As a perfectly imperfect human
Lost soul waiting to be found
